frankly, if one does badly in Science, I don't think 2 days is going to produce any miracles. Learning takes time and miracles takes more time. Best the parent attend the workshop to learn about the methods and apply them at home on an extended basis.

I saw a publication titled \"LiSC* Answering Technique for Upper Primary Science\" sold by this centre. Its selling points are:
1. The First and only definitive Science answering technique handbook
2. Link learnt concepts to Higher Order qns using the highly acclaimed LiSC Answering technique
3. Minimise loss of marks due to incomplete, non-precise or inaccurate answers.

Are these claims really true? Anyone has 1st hand experience to share or know of someone who has used this handbook?

The book is aimed at a very high level conceptual method of answering OE questions. It does have sample questions to illustrate how the concepts are applied and there are practice questions, though not enough, in my opinion.
The concepts are easy to understand as they are very logical. For example, they emphasize looking for key words, and linking the answer back to the question.
I would prefer to have the book go on a topic by topic approach, as this would shine some light on key words for a particular topic. Unfortunately, it is not. So parents will have to figure out what are the essential key words for each topic.
This book is for P5-P6 level as most of the sample questions covers topics at that level. Though a P3/P4 student can use it with the guidance of a parent who has internalized the concepts.
In summary, I would say the book outlines the guidelines for answering OE questions, but it is left to the parent to translate that to a step by step instruction with a child who needs help in OE questions.

Also agree on not enough examples.

However, this is the only book in the market which explains the guidelines systematically so I think it is still worth a look. Just have realistic expectations.

No feedback about their holiday classes ? Those are really :yikes: class fees - value-for-money ?

When I look through the examples, I focus only on the systematic steps like how they picked out the clues from the provided diagram and then explained to my ds accordingly. I didn’t tell him about "LiSC" either.
