Advance learning is not something new. If the child can cope, learning advance is not necessary a bad thing.
Correct, not something new. Most concept can be understood by herself. -
lizhi:
:yikes: Wow, even more advanced! This is getting more and more scary and stressful. :nailbite:IJJ:
Mine did the Math hub holiday program last year (P3), they covered some P6 stuff too.
Yes, I got the experience from another mum, even her son was P2, but can cope P6's math.
Anyone with child in Pri 1 and can handle Pri 6 work?
Markfch, your DS? -

It's an honest mistake. Let's move on .....
Really??? must ask my elder boy then. My P4 boy now sleeping, cant ask him the recent CA1 or SA1 has HYPY qns.
Mark, my sincere apologies if I hv misleaded you.
Btw, I just did the method Mrsbongz taught me regarding drawing the 4 HYPY tonal representation (- / V \\) on a piece of paper. Turns out that ds thought that for 第δΈε£°(V), the pitch must come down then go up again as represented by the 'V'. I don't know where he got this weird idea from?
That's why he always confused this with 第δΊε£°. I don't know, maybe he's right. But his way usually cost him 50% of the allocated marks for HYPY. So I told him to follow my way which is to read 第δΈε£° in a straight downward pitch and nothing more.
The next time his student care gives him past year papers to do, I will know whether he gets it right this time round. Mrsbongz, no matter what, a very big thank you to you. :salute: -

dun thank me, this weird idea is likely fr my ds
that's how he differentiates e 2 tones. The 3rd tone does have a slight upward tilt n the drawings reminds ds. It workss so far. By reading downwards only, will e confusion b between the 3rd n 4th tones? :?

markfch:
i think your son is correct. my ds2 also pronounces it this way. when i listened to his tuition teacher from China carefully, i realised there is a slight upward tone at the end of her third sound, especially if it is the last Chinese character of a sentence. so i believe he learnt it from her, and i just let it be. but it is true that it can lead to confusion from time to time for those whose 1st language is not Chinese.
