Has anyone gone for root canal treatment before? My dentist advised me to do it and I’m very upset and scared and nervous cos I’ve heard so many horror stories of the pain involved.

I have done it before, not a very pleasant experience (as with all dental-related procedure) but I was in such pain then that I would endure anything to end that. Not sure why you require it, as mine was because I had really bad toothache, so a case of no choice
Not only that, painful for my wallet too :yikes: -
mummy of 2:
I have a cracked lower molar. I actually wanted extraction, but dentist said there will be a big gap and in future, other teeth will move towards the gap and all will be crooked. He said if I'm 60 or 70, then he'll recommend extraction. Hurts when drinking cold water, otherwise, it's bearable. But the crack is there, really scary. :scared:

Hello!
Am new here.. just wondering if there are any friendly Dentist for my 19mths old toddler? Think she has caries as her front teeth are half gone :stupid:
She hates brushing her teeth and we have to force her most of the time. Was reading up and saw The Kids Dentist. Apparently Dr Rashid is very good with kids. What are the costs like now?
Am really worried so would like to seek help asap.. am hoping for a middle range pricing. :xedfingers: Would appreciate if any mummies can recommend one preferably situated along NEL or central area, who can get my girl to open her mouth and do some checking w/o the screaming and whatnots.
Many thanks in advance! -

My child's secondary set of teeth is all growing hay wire...kindly suggest a reasonably charging Dental clinic for a 12yr old for putting Braces. I heard that if we go via polyclinic, it wd be under subsidised charges but there is a long Queue. Kindly suggest the best way of getting it done?
http://www.alinedental.com/
even cheaper than the subsidised National Dental Centre
I read about Aline Dental in other website as well. How do you rate their services? DD is P5 and I plan to take her for an assessment this school holiday. How much did you have to pay in total? thanks -
hi,
can i have some advice here? my dentist advised me to do dentures as my teeth are quite weak (with cracks & decays).
i am quite for the idea until i heard the cost & negatives of it.
i was told i need min $3K - $4K for the whole set of dentures including extraction of teeth. then i will need to wait 1 week for the healing to take place & wounds covered up nicely before the new dentures can be fixed onto. which means, i wld be wo teeth for that 1 whole week. no temp teeth will be given to me.
but my mil told me that having dentures wld hinder my eating, especially hard stuff like biscuits, apples, etc..
how now? -
Just want to check with parents. How long does your child take to brush his teeth with the braces on? My dd takes 30 min, she uses 3 types of toothbrush, followed by mouthwash.
-
Hi wcw, she uses one after another, followed by mouthwash. Good to be careful about oral hygiene, esp with braces on. Just what to check other kids spend how much time brushing.

I used to floss my girl’s teeth after she brushed.
WCW, I started playing with my girl dentist game at home. I was the dentist and she the patient. I have a set of tools that dentist use and I actually use it on her teeth while playing the game. I poke around abit so that she get used to it being in her mouth. After 4 games, I brought her to a "real" dentist and it worked. Maybe you can do the same? -
hi peapot,
where you buy the set of tools that dentist use ?
