QuiteKSMum:
This is what we do during distillation in chemistry experiment. We add boiling chips to stabilise the boiling process. So likewise, the metal spoon stabilises the boiling so the liquid won't boil over.
2) Put a metal spoon into the boiling liquid ( soup, water etc) - if it boils & you're not ard to keep an eye, it won't boil over. ( saw this on the Jap TV prog on tips on Tues - personally tried & tested, works!)
Cheers!

I also got one:
To rid of fishy smell on your hands, rub your bare hands against your stainless steel pot. -
To get rid of the stinging feeling on your hands after handling chillies, rub salt on your hands and wash.
Hi,
There is always a cat \"urine\" at my doorstep... in fact is almost every floor the cat do its \"biz\"...Just then I am unable to catch that cat, or else I will give the cat a big slap on its butt :spank: .. :siam:
Any idea what to put to prevent it come again.. I tried put \"baby powder\"..onion... but once the smell gone, it comes back again... :frustrated: :slapshead:
Please help.
try rub white vinegar, strong lemon juice or crushed mothballs where the cat likes to linger. Cats don't like the smell
my place is human urine at the staircase... used what also no use :skeptical:
jess, install suviliance camera or report to police
A cat kept coming to one of my potted plants to 'pass motion' for more than a month. Advice given was to spray insecticide, pour thinner etc but the cat still return after the smell gone. Found out that some brainless person left food at the staircase to feed the cat. I removed the food and swear to :spank: :nunchuk: the culprit if I ever caught him or her. One day DH saw the cat resting on our mat outside the main door and questioned it. DH was like \"were you the one who pass motion in my pot?\" After chasing it away a few times, it got the message. :imcool: -
Any tips to get rid of ants?

WCW, Thanks, how about lizard at home (esp.kitchen) and cockroach in the car, any tips to get rid of them?
-
pandan in car - I have tried but it seems not very effective. But we like the smell of it.
lizard in kitchen - will try what you have recommended. Tks. -
WCW:
I put the lizard trap at home, but my house's lizards too cleaver, crawl anywhere but into those traps. :frustrated:cockroach in car, try put pandan in the car. it can also be car perfume, if u like the smell of it
for lizard, i tried using the lizard trap that NTUC sell, quite good though. And also some DIY shop also sell lizard trap which is also quite useful.
if not u can try this (i have not tried that before but heard fr frd) use egg shells.
take the egg shells (wash it with water, dry and crush them into smaller pieces) and put them in a container at the corners of the house, heard that lizards are scared of those. not sure if its really true but u can give it a try.
btw, lizard scare of lemongrass, u can try put some at their \"normal hang-out area\" or hang it at the window so they wont come in
Tried burning lemongrass essential oil, nothing works.
