        Hello,
Just came back from Popular :imcool: - It was packed with parents, children especially at the assessment books section ๐Ÿ˜‰ . Ok, zoom into those that I have short-listed previously and made a comparison and finally decided on the above :please:

The books each contain 36 factual and fictional texts, 18 graphic stimulus materials and 18 vocabulary cloze passages which I feel it closer to DD1's school exam format  ...The areas which she is weaker are the comprehension and cloze passages. So, hopefully I can squeeze in time to do this book with her

Hi, I bought this too for my kids & personally find it very useful. I'd strongly recommend this to all parents who wish to improve your kids' comprehension skill.
        Hi

I bought this Eng assessment you mentioned from P1-4. Didn't get it this year since most of the passages are extracted from Readers Digest. My son asked me, 'Why didn't you buy that Rosemary Allen this year ?'
For cloze, I get this title from Casco every year http://i55.tinypic.com/2z8509i.jpg\">

            Hi Janet,
Thanks for the recommendation - Didn't see this book when in Popular yesterday probably the store was too crowded and I just want to grab and go ๐Ÿ˜‰ ...

Ok, doing some shopping later in IMM and if I have the chance & time will drop in at Popular to take a :peekaboo:...Today will have my 3 kids with me so might not have the luxury to stand there to browse through ๐Ÿ‘…

Oh Yes, a friend rang me up yesterday to ask comment on this book; anyone use this one before?

              Yong HL:
for parents who doesnt like casco, any particular reasons?

Don't know how to explain. For EPH, SAP, Learners, Victoria, the assessments are more appealing and there are authors for the diff titles.
However, I like Casco Classroom English for the 3 diff types of cloze passage practice...got hooked on it since son was in P1 or P2.

                Hi Mummies with P5 kids,

Do you get your kids to do all-in-1 Eng assessment or individual ones like Grammar, Vocab etc ? When I actually planned the June schedule, itโ€™s really quite shortโ€ฆdonโ€™t know if I should tell son to do individual books or all in 1 like Challenging English. This June, will need to work more on his Comprehension OE, comprehension cloze and synthesis.

                Any advice ? Thanks.

Janet, for the SA1 : I used school papers. I picked 2 sets of school papers to do in full, the rest of the schools - just do the areas he is weak in ie. grammar cloze and compre.

Is it sufficient just doing assessment books?

Do parents here still send your kids to enrichment/tuiton class?

Any recommendation for a good center?

                      TIA ๐Ÿ˜„

                        Hi Janet,

As I know, most of the kids have issues on comprehension questions.
As schools don't really teach them comprehension individual skills.
My suggestion for you is to get individual assessments.
Most importantly is to target on your child's weak points.
