2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take

Silly question here. Does it matter if I move/change house after we have gotten the confirmation for the primary school registration?
Probably not, but you may invite scrutiny. In any case, parents who are thinking of moving house just for the registration and then moving to another place post registration (I'm imagining this to be further from the school)...consider carefully if it is worth it that your child has to wake up much earlier than others and potentially suffer a longer transport journey. Next time when kids have cca (and now they start ccas from P1 - though generally not compulsory)...school bus may not offer the easiest option. -

ya... my blk is not highlight red.... but my blk opposite same condo is highlighted red.Which map are you referring to?
Schools only use One Map (http://www.onemap.sg/index.html). Use the School Query function in this map. It will show you schools that are within 1 km and 1-2 km from your address. -

oh, then they are really strict on it. I am just a block away from hitting 1km and I even speak to the principal on it but she said they really have to follow the radius parameters.....

how do they know? they based on postal code? All the block in the condo using the same postal code leh.
-
nuh, your postal code follows your block, hence they follow the 6 digit postal code. for example 530161
not sure if anyone else can advise, they do base on the onemap from what i am told -

To be confirmed, u can always check with the school, they got record for individual block. -
Happydaddy, is yours a popular school?
-
GSK:
Nope, diff blocks in condo have diff postal code.happydaddy:

Dear hquek,hi hot,
I was in the same predicament last year - to move house or not...
Currently my boy goes to my parents’ house after childcare.
They are staying 2km away from my house.
However, I don’t intend to consider b4 and
after school care at their house cos they are sick,
do not want to add on bundle to them.
Plus, no way my boy will do his schoolwork at
my parents’ house… not the discipline kind.
Meaning, waste of precious time doing nothing,
then go back home struggle on schoolwork till late.
This is what I can foresee if I leave him to my parents.
Ideally, I hope I can send my boy to school in the morning,
then go to student care after that, ie. Single session.
At student care, he can finish his schoolwork with teachers
to coach him, plus friends to socialise.
There aren’t any schools near my house have single session. -
hi hot,
Schools are working towards single session - I can’t recall when is the cutoff year but it will be happening (though probably not too soon for you). Understand the predicament. Anycase, there are BASC in the morning for those afternoon sessions.
