I think camp is going to be in school. Check out the Post Exam activities in the Admin Breeze.

Did you ask your boys what the teacher told them about the camp? According to my ds, he was told the boys can choose where to sleep, what to do , where to eat etc for camp. I was flabbergasted. Surely that can’t be right? I called the school this morning, and the admin lady told me she’d get the teacher in charge to return my call. It’s already 4.30pm, and I havent received any call yet.

The theme of the camp is Nomad, and among the packing list is EZ link card. I think the boys have to travel around Sg to find things or something like that.

I called the school again coz no teacher called me back reg the camp. Today I found out - the boys will NOT BE STAYING in school for camp. There are apparently 3 places the boys are split into - East Coast, West Coast and Sembawang.

I find the school very irresponsible in the fact that they didnt state it on the notice about the camp. Shouldn’t we parents be informed of where the boys will be camping, instead of blatantly lying that the camp is held in school?

                  Thanks for the updates, Blitz!

It was initially rather unsettling not knowing what to expect. School probably didn't want to leak out too much info or it will spoil the fun for the boys. DS said last night they were told they'll be sleeping elsewhere.

While chatting on the way to school this morning, we decided this can be a refreshing experience 🆒 He packed all his stuff in 1 bag last night so that it's convenient for him to travel around the island these 2 days.

The 3 places you mentioned all have campsites. Perhaps the base is in school, then they move out for their activities. Like Amazing Race.. Sounds fun :imcool:

Hi, I am new to this website. Anyway my ds told me teacher said the class will split into 3 groups. Then they will have to walk to the park and camp there. No bus or mrt allow. So I believe the 3 groups will go 3 campsite. hope all students are safe. Also they are told that they need to walk whole day.

While I understand it is fun and exciting about staying out somewhere other than school, my main point is this - parents should have been told. The consent form did say the camp is held in school, and to know otherwise is unsettling.

I did let Mr Suresh know that I am not against the boys going out for camp, but at least have the decency to let the parents know. He admitted it was his mistake to leave that out of the circular and that he will ensure he will add in the venue in circulars in the future.

In view of the weather (its lightning and thunder here, with clouds ready to burst at the seams anytime soon), are the boys well covered in the campsite?

If what the teacher said is true, they need to setup the tent in the park. Hope the tent can cover them
