Dear all,
I have this issue, anyone have any idea about it, pls let me know.
We are PR here and we sent our kids to Canadian International School since P1.
Now we are apply to become Singapore citizen and I did talk to MOE customer service executive abt my case and ask her that do we need to change our kids back to Government school.
The reply is: the international school has to summit the application for my kids and MOE will approve it case by case and she did not give me any more detail answer.
I really want to know is there anyone has the same case like me, please let me know and give me an advice abt this.
Thank you so so much, I am worries a lot.

Hi Parents,
My son is currently in P2 in Primary School in Central South and we will be moving to Thomson/Newton area towards end this year/early next year. We have submitted application forms to the various primary school near our new place. I would appreciate any advice what else can the parents do to enhance our chances of getting into the school - mid way. :?: -
My daughter in p1 this year and doesn't seem to be getting along with her classmates.
Should I change school? What is the process? We tried so hard to get her into this school....

You should check with her and her teachers why she can't get along with her classmates. You have to observe how she behaves with her classmates, and correct or advise her if what she's doing is not acceptable. If you change her school, she'll have to adjust to a new environment, with new classmates. This may not solve the problem.
If you want to change the sch, you just need to go to another sch to check if there's vacancy, then after it's confirmed, you just inform the current sch. That's it, very simple procedure.

A friend’s case is such:
Her P5 kid has been complained by teachers as no discipline since P1,… can’t sit still, rude to teachers,… till recently he fighted with his teacher. The P referred him to see psychologist and after that they stopped him from attending school. No medication is needed so far. The child keep insisting that the teacher need to apologise to him and refuse to stop school. Is it correct for them to stop him from attending school. It has been two months and he has been fine at home with the help of his little sister to submit homework for him but My friend is afriad that this may affect his PSLE preparation if continue. Should my friend ask for transfer him to another school and what is their chance of success? Or should my friend co-operate and wait till the current school is willing to take her child back? -
Hi, I am planning to move from woodlands to yishun, anyone knows what’s the procedure for transferring school? Thanks

Can the school suspend the child for such a long time? Two months is a long time. If the school doesn’t agree to have the child back in the school, your friend should seek help fro MOE.
-
They seek help to write a letter to MOE… no outcome yet. Some kids felt treaten by him and complaint to parents followed-up by parents complained to school, so they stopped him from school. So far the doctors do not want to certify him to go back yet. He was said to have mild Autisim. Dunno how the letter to MOE help. What make it worst is the parents are not able to communicate well to the Malay P and FT as they only speak Mandarin and find themselve even helpless in working with the P. P suggest home school the kid but both my friend and hubby only have pr education. how to home school?
-
Maybe your fren can try to find another school which is more accepting to the kid’s condition. Alternatively, she should contact the P and MOE to seek for a solution (other than home-school) for the kid. Since MOE has made primary education as compulsory, they have the duty to help the kid find a suitable school. If no reply, seek help from MP.

2 months not going school is a long time. In cases like this, the parents need to be proactive and seek all avenues to address the issue. The P is obviously adopting a "wait and see" approach, hoping the parents will simply move kid out of the school so she has 1 less headache.
If all else fail, try to write to minister of education. Must strike whilst iron is hot, rather than leave issue to drag on.
