      hi wimdils,

did you look at the past balloting history in KSP? it gives a fair gauge - but note, things do change from year to year. Number of kids with siblings coming in, alumni/old girls, PV, grassroots - all these will affect the final outcome. In fact, if the admin staff tell you a figure, she’s definitely bluffing you.

        hi,

ya… i did… ,it’s like 91% filled in phase 2c and there was a chance for 2c supp. (correct me if i m wrong)-and that’s why I am on tenterhooks to risk my chances in Haig Girls in Phase 2C. i live beyond 2 km…

          Hi wimdils,

If there is a chance for 2C Supp, this means those beyond 2Km should be able to get in during 2C. A good sign really.

            I’ve got a dilemma…

I’m currently staying at address A which is 1km to school A and I have another property at address B which is 1km to school B. Depending on the balloting chances, I would like to have the flexibility of applying for either school A or B at phase 2C. I can move to property B should my child gets enrolled in school B.

How do I keep the flexibility of applying for either schools??? Just change 1 parent’s I/C?

Haha...that's the problem. I need to change my address to B for phase 2B...but just but what if I get balloted out even at 1km :yikes:

Need to think of backup and strategy at phase 2C :xedfingers:

hi, i am new here. can anyone advise on this:

my son is going to P1 in 2012, and now we have two choices for schools to apply both in 2C.
school N-northland(heard good in math and science) is within 1km from our own address.
school C-chongfu (heard good in language) is within 1km from grandparents’ address.
Both school’s PSLE results seem comparable. we are eligible to use grandparents’ address.

                  question: 1.which school is better
2.if apply C first and failed, will affect the chances to apply N since we cannot apply two schools at the same phase?

                  thnks a lot!

                    1. both schools have their merits. you have to assess which school that you stand a better chance.
                    2. for Chongfu, if you are using the grandparents address and registering via the caregiver's route, your registration will be under the 1-2km category despite that the actual distance is <1km. as chongfu has balloting for <1km for the past few years, i don't think you stand a good chance to even ballot via caregiver's route as your application will not be considered <1km

                    You may want to know

For registration using the address of the child’s grandparents or the parent’s sibling, a statutory declaration is needed. If statutory declaration is used, children who are registered using either the grandparent’s or the parent’s sibling’s address and residing within 1 km or between 1 km and 2 km of the school of choice are balloted together with the other children residing between 1 km and 2 km of the school. View details on eligibility for statutory declaration.

                    3. yes. you cannot apply 2 schools in any single phase. so choose wisely; and have a backup plan.

                      Hi,

Apologize for the ignorance, but you mentioned that we cannot apply into 2 schools at any single phase, just like to ask if it would be possible say for 2B to submit an application in the morning time slot, observe the number of applicants vs places for that phase, and decide to opt out before re-submitting at another school during the afternoon time slot?

Or would we know of the number of applications for that phase in real time?

                      Thanks for the insight…

It is possible. You will have to withdraw from the first school before you are allowed to register with the second school.

For this, you will need to check with the school.
