Anyone been to Taiwan on a tour pkg before? Which agent is good and what are the places to visit? Also what is the price range like???

We will have at least 4 senior citizens, 3 children (6 - 10) and both of us. So thinking of getting a pkg tour this time round.

dh and I went with 3 young children and 1 senior citizen 3 years ago. We joined nam ho. They allocated us to Keelim (麒麟)hotel on the first night which was full of awful smell. i spare my new perfume bought at changi airport to stray the room still it did not help. Subsquent hotels was not bad the local tour guide was very good and knowledgeable who told us lots of history stories about taiwan and some juicy stories of famous taiwanese singer like 邓丽君 which we enjoyed though not sure if true or not. Meals were satisfatory. I enjoyed travel around by train at taipei and visiting 品城书店 during the free and easy day.

Can someone recommend your HotSpring experience to me?

            Hopefully near to Taipei.

No swimming for us, but we just want the kids to see the "smoke" and maybe "cook" some eggs.

            thanks in advance

Is Taipei’s subway kids-friendly? Intend to bring my two kids (6 & 4 yrs old) to explore the city by myself…still hesitating because i am not sure if can manage them? 1 adult to 2 kids?

In any case my plan is first stop to the Mucha Zoo? Zoo should be less crowded during weekday (understand that taipei sch holiday only starts in jul?) and i can spent almost the whole day there…but if it rains will spent a day indoor at the "Big Boss"… Appreciate some tips or comments pls…

Try to avoid the evening peak hours as it's really really crowded.... but the queue is so systematic and you will not see anyone pushing each other... Those exiting will go out first then those outside will enter. Other than peak hours, the subway's quite manageable.

Yes maybe try to avoid till 7.30 pm... Peak hours are pretty similar to Singapore. Gantry closing seems quite normal... I cannot make comparison as ive not taken Spore's MRT for at least 10 years...

Oh yes, they've got cute little doors to prevent kids from falling at the platform, and the subway's super safe. They've even got an area for ladies to stand while waiting for trains at night whereby that area is under camera surveillance.

Toilets can be found at the subway stations, but don't recall seeing toilets along the streets... But I'm sure you can find toilets at places of interest...

                      hi Admummy,

their train system will be easy to navigate after one ride (just remember the train line and colour). People are super friendly. \"Mucha\" is train-line, normally people call Taipei Zoo.

Zoo is only $3, but beside Panda, Gorilla, Camel, I find Singapore Zoo more interactive. If time constraint, will not recommend.

I will recommend the Mao-Kong Gondola (at Zoo station). This is cable car up to the hills ! $2 only. At hilltop, enjoy desert and tea.
                      (if too windy, avoid !)

Baby Boss (kids $45, adult $30) will take u one day either 10am-3pm, or 10am-6pm. Highly recommended.
