        Haha. . .I need to use masking tape soon. My son talks more than he does his work. He is also very slow in his work and loves to ask this,\"Mummy, is my handwriting nice?\" *Peng San* Thus, a simple comprehension can take an hour or more to finish.
        Same during meal time. Need to do the \"zip the mouth\" action.

        I think phase 2B/2C within 1 km is quite safe to get into PH? No?

        No promises but last year's Phase 2C had to ballot for those staying within 1km. My friend stays at Blk 12 Toh Yi...her 2 neighbours were balloted out...one managed to get into PH last Dec after she placed her name on wait list.

        Hi Scary,
        My son is super-talkative & hyperactive...he talks the moment he wakes up. I get irritated at times. His teachers have the SAME complaint during Parent-Teacher meetings year after year.

              er.... , Just to answer your qn - my fren said the PHSS student are quite lay back (er... i think he means they are passive learner..) . No offence, pls.
              As an ex-PHPPS student, I was quite lay back when I was in sec school, didnt like to ask T questions cos preferred to self study.... only woke up around JC time but was challenging T with out of scoop questions instead... πŸ˜“ Dont think your fren will like this type of student instead.... imho, if they are learning, passive or active also can lah.... :siam:

                Alegbra was taught only in P6 term 1 (during my elder boy's P6) - a very small chapter, clearly incapable of solving the so-called challenging prob sums. Better to learn it from pte tutors.

                  1. 975 boys and girls attended the school's sports day. After 5/7 of the boys and 3/4 of the girls left, there were 150 more boys than girls who remained. How many girls attended the sports day at first?

                  2. Annika saved a total of 228 pieces of 10-cent coins, 20-cent coins and 50-cent coins.

                  She added more coins to her collection until the number of 10-cent coins tripled, removed 1/2 of the number of 20-cent coins and took out 18 pieces of 50-cent coins.

                  The ratio of the number of 10-cent coins to 20-cent coins to 50-cent coins is now 3:6:2

                  Find the total value of all the coins Annika has now

                  3. A group of people attended a party. Each of them shook hands with everyone else once only. Mary shook with 5 times as many girls as boy. John shook hands with 6 times as many girls as boys.

                  a) How many people attended the party?

                  b) Were there more boys or girls? How many more?

                  BB BB BB BB – GGGG -> 150X4 =600

                  B -> 1575/15=105
                  ……

                  1+6X2+2 (units) -> 228-18=210pieces
                  1unit ->14pieces
                  $0.10 -> 14X3X$0.10=$4.20
                  $0.20 -> 14X6X$0.20=$16.80
                  $0.50 -> 14X2X$0.50=$14.00
                  $4.20+$16.80+$14.00=$35.00
                  The total value of all the coins Annika has $35.00 now.

                  3.
                  the girls number should be 6multiples and 5multiples+1.
                  a) 43 people attended the party. there are 36 girls and 7 boys.
                  b) There were more girls.

                    Algebra very pathetic chapter at P6 (first chap)...took a glimpse of the textbook when I was at Popular...like what Jennifer mentioned, it's totally incapable of solving any problem. Son was taught Models to handle Maths problems.
                    Students in school are not equipped with sufficient methods of handling prob sums although they are given marks for diff steps (M1, M2 thing) :?
                    So, that's why private tutors are needed.

                      That means the Algebra can be used from P5 onwards as soon as the kids know how to use and give correct answer.
