Actually, most of the questions posted in that thread are REAL questions that you can expect to happen in the PSLE. I kid you not.


The only good news is that they are normally the hardest 1 or 2 questions in the examination.

Why? Because if it was easy, no one would post the question. That was what my son said :roll:

Err... hardest 1 or 2 questions only means the rest of the questions are less hard. It doesn't mean they are easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy as my daughter will say.

Psychologically, if the few tough questions are placed in front, it would have dampened some kids’ spirit so I hope even if they want to insert such toughies in, have mercy to put it behind, at least let the children feel that they can do those questions they have been taught the concepts that are easy to see easily in the questions.

Usually these type of tough questions are fall under '5 marks' questions. If I'm not wrong there would be 4 questions and are placed from Q15 to Q18 (Q18 is the last question for Section C).

Oh only 4? Then they only have room to put it as Q17 and Q18.

I thought perhaps one may appear in Section B as well. Whatever it is, let them be the last questions in the Section in order not to dampen the children's spirit in pressing on. :xedfingers:

I think for one of the PSLEs, a difficult question was placed near the front (not a 5 mark question) which threw a lot of kids off because they spent a lot of time on it, hence couldn’t complete the paper.

even the front part, some of the 2 or 3 marks questions, also must think hard.....no easy-peasy :evil:

Not likey this will appear in Section B as the Q26 - Q30 are 2 marks each.

So far the few sets of top school papers that dd completd did not have these so called very tough question lah. Hopefully this PSLE also don't have too.

yup..... i remembered a P6 teacher ever wrote to the ST forum that
even the 2 marks question also need some hard thinking.....
quite a number of them got stuck there.
