Depends on the T. My elder boy's M1 T does not encourage Algebra.[/quote]
That means the Algebra can be used from P5 onwards as soon as the kids know how to use and give correct answer.janet_lee88:
Algebra very pathetic chapter at P6 (first chap)...took a glimpse of the textbook when I was at Popular...like what Jennifer mentioned, it's totally incapable of solving any problem. Son was taught Models to handle Maths problems.
Students in school are not equipped with sufficient methods of handling prob sums although they are given marks for diff steps (M1, M2 thing) :?
So, that's why private tutors are needed.
At P4, son's teacher didn't encourage the use of algebra...but this year, teacher said can use any method as long as the kid is comfortable. P4 teacher said better stick to models. -
Mrsbongz:

Ya, bad timing! Aiya, I was just fulfilling the promise I made to P3/4 parents after SA1 to put up the questions ...for all you know, most parents may find them 'wet-wet-water' lah, like Lizhi
... they will heave a sign of relief instead
And her dd1 & dd2 are in HCI & NYGS.
Hrm lizhi, when is your tuition ctr opening? I book first hor.

Actually I hope my answers will cast a brick to attract jade.
Try to find better ways to let children easy to understand.....whether the method is algebra or not, as long as the kid is comfortable. -

I hope my son's Math at SA2 will improve and can score at least a B, given that he has started 1-to-1 Math tuition :xedfingers: :xedfingers:

For last year 2010 SA2 P5 MA Highest was 93, Avg was 58 and Median was 60, not easy :nailbite: -
Sigh. . . . PH may further reduce the no. of P1 classes so that the school can go single session by 2015.

Hi Parents,
Just curious about P1 intake.
How many classes were opened for P1 last year ?
Someone asked me if she can use my address to register for her son... :siao: If I agree, it will be η₯ζ³η―ζ³. Anyway, there is no more guarantee.
