Cheerfuldad:
At ACS(I), most of the top students choose to do the IB programme rather than O levels. That's why their O level results aren't as good as their IB results. As to whether more resources are put into their IB programme, it's something I've heard also.Hi Parents,
I noticed that the number of pupils who scored 6A1 and above (based on GCE 'O' level 2010) in ACS(I) are lowered compare to SJI and VS. :? Whereas, their IB result is the best in the world. Can I conclude that ACS(I) is putting all their resources on IB than GCE 'O' level express stream? Any parent can comment on that?
If I have a child who is qualified for the above schools' COP to pursue GCE 'O' level, should I consider SJI or VS rather than ACS(I)?
Please advise. Thank you. -
Hi,
Anybody know are there special classes like SophiaBlackmore class in ACSI? especially for IB Program.
Thanks -

ACSI has GEP for both IP and O level track.

The SBC is MGS’s equivalent of the ACS(I) Integrated Programme (Years 1-4). SBC has some GEP input, and so does the ACS(I) IP. From 2013, SBC Year 1 MGS girls will be on trajectory to join ACS(I) IB Programme in Year 5.

Hi autolycus, so SBC student doesn't need to take O level in 2013. How about sec 3 SBC students at that time?
SMO 2011 special round result released. http://sms.math.nus.edu.sg/competitions/CompetitionHomePage.aspx#special
ACS(I) poor in Junior , but good in senior and open. Is it meaning that IB program support enrichement in math ?
Thanks -
If you look at the names, you will notice that most of them are foreigners and many foreign scholars enter the school at sec 3 level.
-
bromath: the IP is a general programme, but -twilight- is correct to say that many very good foreign scholars enter the school in Year 3, hence boosting performance.
I also have to correct you on the SBC. SBC girls entering at S1 in 2013 will not have to take O-levels in 2016. They will go on to enter ACS(I) Year 5 in 2017. After that, SBC S1 in Year X will all enter ACS(I) Year 5 in Year X+4 (unless they get transferred out of the SBC).

Are only the SBC classes from MGS eligible for the thru train to ACSI? have they announced this?

The initial MOE announcement is http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/2010/09/more-pathways-secondary-schools.php, under paras. 15-16. The MGS IP track is the SBC. Yes, they announced it. Other MGS girls not in the SBC can still apply to ACS via the usual O-level scheme and by DSA.
