      CharleneX:
      Hi

Planning to make a Day trip to Genting this June holidays and aware that it's also school holidays for our neighbour as well.

We will be staying in KL. May I ask, for those whom have been there before during the June Hols:

      1) Is there always a long wait/ queue to almost all the stations?

      2) Going on a Weekday and Weekend do make a difference i suppose?

      3) Is there any kind of discounts for the All Park Day Pass? Say Booking online?

      Thanks in advance.
      1) There r long Qs for the more popular rides. Be prepared to wait ard 30min or more. Sometimes, I'll stand in the Q 4 the kids while DH brought them to play at a less popular ride 1st.
      2) Weekends r definitely more crowded. Do reach early. Think the opening hrs during sch hols is earlier.

      4) Not sure abt online discount but there's an annual pass. Quite worth it if u r going often.

NEVer go during weekend esp school holidays , too much Qs everwhere, can check rwgenting.com theme park info calender for malaysian school holiday season

            via coach
took starmart reasonable fare $35/person for 26 comfortable seater , one movie
            shown, the guadian kevin costner

return 707 $ 32 cheaper because discount given to world card ember
            no movie shown
BUT longer by up to one hour return because the toilet rest breaks bus takes detour to off expressway to stop at commission shop outlet instead of direct highway rest stop.

            hotel
apply for genting world card via internet to book direct from rwgenting.com. the rates are even cheaper than asiatravel.com or agoda.com

stayed at theme park hotel Superior rm which had queen bed + single bed . Simple check in as not too many guests converging at once.
this is the original first hotel built in 1970s but rename to theme park hotel as its lobby is next to entrance of the theme park.
Room is refurbished so interior is updated.

            Food
just across theme park hotel lobby is 24 hour canteen basic low cost meal available or you can have cafe style OLD town cofee next door to the canteen .

ate also at gotong jaya : chuan kee shop number 28-30,spent Rm 96 5 dishes for six persons , pork belly, egg yolk, toufu , string beans one more item, next door shop Guan kee also popular

            theme park rides
get discount if myKad or worldcard member

at gohtong jaya, there is a free resortword shuttle bus every half hour that passes by at the .gotong jaya bus stop but still have to walk a further ? 8 mins to the strawberry farm

hi \"needtoupdate\", your post came in just in time cause my family planning for Genting trip...just to check with you, did you face any difficulty going through Malaysia Customs with the new biometric fingerprint scanning system? Do they have any special Q for travellers via coach (travel agencies)? Is it compulsory for everyone to do the fingerprint scanning? What about children and baby, any exemption?

How about shopping? any great sales going on over at Genting? Besides the currency differences, what is worth buying at Genting?

BTW, did you buy the Holiday card during your trip (http://www.rwgenting.com/en/promotions/2008/holidaycard/default.htm)
? Quite tempting to get it coz it's cashless and outright 15% savings at the point of purchase. But a bit unsure whether there will be technical glitch and end up the card cannot be used in most shops? Any comments?

              Thanks in advance!

i used Starmart coach ,bought one way ticket$35/person to genting

Left on friday morning 8am thru 2nd link tuas
                experinced ADDITIONAL 2 hour delay @ both singPORE n malaysian CHECK-POINT, I THINK it,s due to both INcreased passenger volume[school hols}
and the finger printing for new entrants, under 12 not required
no separate Q : fingerprint part of same immigration processing

if u could avoid school hols season ,no need to pay to Q,no need topay Peak season room rates.

FIRSt world plaza has lots of shops but i didn’t shop as i brought children to theme park, for weekend ,best to start at 8am as the q is worse from 10 am t0 5pm and indoor park closes at 6pm and if going on a weekend peak season may want to buy more expensive express pass as certain q could be upto 1.25 hr for more popular rides during peak time

i dinn’t buy Holiday card as it was my first time going in 18 years

I also planning to go September school holiday where departing on 2 Sep. Wonder really worth to pay so much for the room & especially it would be very crowded & have to queen for very long time. The kids are in school & guess have to go during school holiday unless we can apply leave from the school for our children?

Eurostar, please be prepared to queue for a couple of hours for check-in to your room if you are going there during Singapore or Malaysia school holidays. If you are going in Dec, it'll be more than that .....
