All About Primary Schools' Balloting History

Thanks jtoh for the information.
Too bad we are not lucky to be in that phase. Will only get to ballot for phase 2cjtoh:
But if you're registering as old boy or old girl of the school, it would be better if the old boy or old girl went down personally in case they have problems locating your name in the old register etc.

Good luck johnnytanki.

At the moment, applicants are assured of a place under 2A based on past records, but in actual fact, balloting does take place if number of applicants exceed vacancies. I was very worried when I registered my daughter last year as we stay more than 2km...could hear my heart pounding when I saw the admin officer tick the 'more than 2km' box in the registration form.
I cannot imagine that we will need to ballot under Phase 2A even if not as alumni. :nailbite:
Actually technically speaking, only phase 1 applicants are assured of a 100% successful chance. All the other phases are subject to vacancies available vs number of applicants. So for phase 2A2, there is still a chance of balloting should the number of applicants exceed the number of vacancies.Luanee:
100% successful as you are eligible to register in Phase 2A2, which is For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the school of choice; or whose parent is a staff member of the school of choice.
TNS has yet to announce when they will make the change to single session.
But of coz it is quite unlikely to happen based on past year trends.
If such scenario happen, then everyone will join the alumni and everyone will be indifferent. -

Unfortunately, not every school has alumni...some schools may even have closed down or merged with another. -
Based on past balloting history, Phase 1 to Phase 2A(2) are confirm 100% which does not required any form of balloting. Some schools would surface at Phase 2B onwards.

It’s fast, just heard from news, registration starts next week from Phase 1.

Hi ralf2,
You have a great game plan. I would have done the same.
At the very least, you have a good school in hand before having to decide if you want to take the risk of balloting.
Do you have a Plan C? -
Tao Nan phase 2C will be "overregistered" and balloting will be for within 1km.
There are just too many new apartments / condos springing up with mushrooms within 1km to the school. -
We live less than 1km to Poi Ching. What’s the possibility in getting into the sch w/o balloting in Phase 2C? High?
