Pei Hwa, Henry Park and RGPS

TQ. many parents will be upset

I put myself in the shoes of these parents, I will also be very disappointed. Granted with 390 vacancies, NYPS can't increase anymore. But I thought that if they cut 1 class from RGPS, then they should increase 1 class in MGS and if cut 1 class from both HP & PH, then at least increase 2 classes in BTPS to compensate. If can't increase, then don't cut.

What happened to encouraging our kids to study near their homes? Actually parents in BT area have all along been very fortunate to have 6 really good schs to choose from, but it got so much tougher this yr.

Yes, many parents disappointed, stressed !

along Bukit Timah belt, BT small - 6 P1 classes. MGS also small - only 7 P1 classes. The 3 schools (Pei Hwa, Henry Park, RGPS) cut down by 1 class each.

furthermore, parents purposely shifted to BT area, private condo, hoping to ballot…

                Hi Parent,

I do not have original Sales & Purchase agreement for my Yet-to-complete Property. Certified True copy is ok??
Called lawyer, bank, developer… no one willing to give me the Original.

Any kind soul has similar/heard of this?

total, how many primary schools in SG, including new ones built for 2012 fresh intake ?

for Pei Hwa and Henry Park co-ed schools P1 intake, do they take in equal percentage of boys and girls, ie. 50% each ? or are they more skewed towards accepting boys than girls ?

BigD, are you a daddy or a mommy ?

Hi phtthp, I'm a daddy. Nice to meet you. 😉
                    phtthp:
bigD, any idea why there is a decrease of 1 class for RGPS, or for those schools that got decrease ?
The 3 schools Henry Park, Pei Hwa and Raffles Girls are all still operating at partial single session. So maybe the reduction in size is to accommodate going to single session in the future?
If i'm applying through Phase 2A2 as my hubby is an old boy in St. Gabriels, but he had lost his PSLE result and report book, is it still possible to register at this Phase???

                      Please advice. Super panicking now.

No experience but maybe you can call up the school to check if they still have records of your dh? They may keep the records, so no harm trying.

Or other parents who have been in the same situation can advise you better.

Try calling MOE. A friend of mine also experienced this. Managed to get a duplicate copy of some cert to qualify under 2A2. Paid $10 or something like that.
I was in this situation myself, and I wrote to MOE back in 2008 about it.
                      The following was MOE's reply:

                      Dear Mr XX,

Thank you for writing to us on 21 Aug 2008 with regard to your enquiry.

We would like to share with you that The Ministry of Education (MOE) only keeps records of the national examinations (PSLE, GCE ‘N’ level, GCE 'O' level and GCE 'A' level). The PSLE and GCE Certificates cannot be reprinted once they are misplaced. However, you can purchase a copy of the statement of results from us. A statement of results is an official document issued by the MOE which indicates the exam results obtained by the candidates in the GCE or PSLE examination in a particular exam year. As the statement is issued by MOE, it can be used as a substitute for certificates, if candidates have misplaced the original certificates.

To purchase a copy of the statement of result, you can download the application form from : http://www.moe.gov.sg/about/customer-service/exam-services/statement-of-results/

Each copy of the statement is S$10 (Self Collect at CSC) plus postage S$2 (by post to a Singapore mailing address) or S$5 (by post to a mailing address outside of Singapore). The completed application form, together with a copy of your NRIC/passport and a cheque is to be sent to our Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor, Podium Block, MOE Building, 1 North Buona Vista Drive, Singapore 138675. Your cheque is to be in Singapore currency and made payable to the \"Accountant General Singapore\". Upon receipt of your completed application, we will print the statements and have them mailed to the mailing address stated in your application.

Alternatively, you can purchase the statement personally at the above mentioned address. Each copy of the statement costs S$10 (excluding postage). Please bring along your original NRIC/passport for verification. Our Customer Service Centre is open from Mon - Fri, 8am - 6pm and Sat, 8am - 1pm (closed on Sundays and Public Holidays).

Should you wish to visit CSC personally, please note that for the PSLE exams taken from 1960 to 1975 , the results are kept in our storage facility and not in our computer database, As such, for these periods of examination, the processing time for the statement of results will be longer and the applicant will not be able to obtain the statement on the spot. For examinations taken after the above period of examination, the results may be retrieved from our computer database immediately

We hope the above clarifies. Should you have any further enquiries, please quote the following reference number : 2008/08/680073 when you email me at [email protected]. Alternatively, you may also speak with our Customer Service Executives at 6872-2220.

                      Thank you.

                      Best Regards,

                      Mr Dennis Ho
