      IJJ,
Was wondering why you said last term...then realized PSLE ends just before Children's Day. Although your daughter graduates this year, you are still VERY welcome to chat with us here. Stay in touch ok ? :please:
Hahaha...my dd only in P4(Teamwork) this year, remember? Will keep in touch.

Thanks IJJ. Ds said that I'm unlucky cos even on Father's Day, he gets to decide where to celebrate.

I warned him that on Children's Day, he will get the same treatment, hehe.

So your dd is really going to miss PH rite?
Haha.... Does he make the choice on Mother's day?

Oh yes, she already misses PH.

          Dear Daddy & Mummy,

My son going to join Pei Hwa class teamwork 3 this coming term, anybody kids are in this class ? Anyone can help to provided some info about here.
          Welcome!! :welcome:

My daughter was also a midyear tranfer student, but that was 2 years ago. Your ds must be pretty excited about the switch. Don't worry, PH has alot of fun element amidst the academic emphasis. Hope he will enjoy his years in PH. 😉

Mine is also in P4(teamwork) but not in the same class. I guess you should already know the form teacher (FT)/ co-FT of his class. Nevertheless, this is the website http://www.phpps.moe.edu.sg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=158&Itemid=98. 😉

What other things you want to know?
          :?

              php:

Next year PH P1 intake reduces to 300...so there will be likely more parents going away with disappointment this year....

Huh? That's bad news. So this yr confirm balloting for P2C < 1km (last yr's ratio was 67% success rate I think), P2B < 2km and maybe even P2B <1km.

Do you know the rationale for cutting the P1 classes in consecutive yrs?

Indeed bad news for many. My churchmates are getting kan cheong now. Now the intake gg to drop from 360 to 300, almost 30% drop ... :yikes: :nailbite:

                php,

Confirm 300? They shld consider putting 33 kids in a class to maintain intake at 330. I know some schools are doing that to meet the demand.

I am super worried now. The vacancies around Bukit Timah area is not enough to meet the demand. Bukit Timah Primary will not have enough vacancies in this case too unless they increase the no. of classes.

MOE should not insist on going single session if it affects the area badly. I remember they still promised parents that schools will not reduce the no. of classes when they announce the temporary relocation for Nanyang Prim and Henry Park Prim.

Sigh… .shld have bought an unit near Henry Park 2 yrs ago. At least have a back-up. Now can only pray.

Maybe we shld all go and see the MP.

Don't know whether you've read the other threads. This PH issue (cut 1 class) is compounded by cuts in RGPS & HPPS as well. So even if you've bought the place near HP 2 yrs ago, chances will be slim too. And they didn't bother to increase the vacancies in the other 3 schs in BT area to compensate.

Yes, we know that there're 6(?) new schs. But there is none in BT area. Do they really want our kids to travel to the new Frontier sch in JW extension to study?

                      php,

                      THanks for the information.

                      markfch,
Shld have cut out that article on the relocation. MOE was addressing the concerns of parents. The schools that I can think of nearest to our place are Bukit Timah and Bukit View Prim. Both schools are actually very inconvenient. Only bus 173 from our place and to Bukit View Prim is a big detour. Super sian.

My fren will be super kancheong now. She PV for RGPS but is out of 2km.
The only thing I can say is MOE is really lousy in planning.

What abt Keming or Princess Elizabeth?

With more Bt Timah projects TOP in the future, I think the sch vacancy issue is going to be a big headache for many families.
