mum2es:
SAJS - Registration status as at 30 July 09
Number of vacancies : 79
Total applicants: 93
within 1km : 63
1 - 2 km : 30
*sighs* this means I'll have to ballot for one of the 16 places. *keeps fingers crossed*
-
What schools are in your radar, please ?
mum03:
We try to be cool, but deep inside is soooooooo stressed, my turn to register tomorrow. Not sure whether could sleep tonight
-
Very likely RMPS have balloting for those staying at 1Km range. Around 80+ would be fighting for the available 63 seats in Phase 2C.

Looking at Katong Convent, keeping my :xedfingers:

Does anyone know... what abt if you move out of an address (that is within 1 km and u have lived in for many years and also used to register for your kid in the new school) after the kid is successfully placed in the school? It really wouldn't make sense at all to have such rules (IF the same rule applies in this instance) since primary education lasts 6 years and we really don't know when is the next time we will be moving house, given the fact that some people really aren't exploiting the 1 km rule to get into popular schools but registered their child in the school purely out of convenience and common sense?Yes, I am responding to your post.
If you use the address to register the children, you should move in within 2 years.
This is my best guess.
Don't gamble your children education. Not worth taking the risk.
Move in if you can. Notify the tenant your intentions. 2 years is sufficient.
Tenancy agreement normal is 1 + 1 year.
That's why 2 years is the allowance period.
Correct me if i am wrong.
Anyone has any idea? -
Does anyone know why St Gabriel’s is so unpopular?

I just called NCPS. They can't tell me figures yet, so I will check the MOE website tonight. But according to them, so far those registered for NCPS are all living within 1km....

Spoke to their staff at the school and called again to confirm. Was informed that all the applicants registered are within 1km. They could have turned away those outside 1km as soon more than 72 applications within 1km were received yesterday and called those outside 1km who submitted their applications earlier to withdraw since they will stand no chance at all. Yesterday, the subscription rate was already 221%. Could jolly well exceed 300% today. Not sure I want to join in for the NCPS Toto Draw

I want to know too. I noticed that they had received the least applications among the 5 schools in Serangoon yesterday. Surely, there must be some reason(s) why parents are giving it a miss. -
i have a question - if supposedly under phase 2C - school balloting for 1-2km, and I am out of 2km - so they asked me to withdraw my application - is it compulsory that I must withdraw ? I am just thinking of appealing to the school to be on waiting list - so if I withdraw - what’s my chance of being on waiting list ? Anyone has that kind of experience ? Thanks !

End of day update from MSHS posted at 4.30pm
No. of Vacancies : 97
Applicants
Within 1km : 47
1 to 2km : 45
Outside 2km : 21
Balance : -16
Balloting for outside 2km
21 will ballot for 5 places
But chances are at least 5 applications will be submitted between 1-2km tomorrow which means balloting only for those between 1-2km
Good luck to parents who have applied.
