My girl in Nan Hua P5 but never engaged in any lesson in June holiday.

I suspect that the holiday lessons for some of these sch's mentioned might be for certain classes only, maybe to prepare them for the coming NUS maths olympiad competition.

Mostly likely during the one month or so before PSLE, schools will be drilling the kids for exam papers. Is it more effecitive to follow-up closely with that at home or spending time running around for PSLE tuition and struggling between homework given by tutition centre and school. Is it better to stop all enrichment including tuition earlier?

My advice is for the students to work very hard and try more practices before the PSLE and push for best and optimal results, and after the PSLE exams are over in 2 months time, allow them to play all they want because all the hardwork is worth it and after the exams, it is time to relax and play.

I told all my students not to come for lessons after PSLE, just play for 3 months. 😛

But now is the time to work very very hard, practising to perfection and excellence.

My Child was \"forced\" to attend Mdm Jiang's daughter English lesson else he can't attend Mdm Jiang Chinese lesson. It did not help much in pushing up his grade,. The teacher spoke very fast, \"v\" sounds like \"we\", ... I think there were also feedback about her in this forum in the past. The other English teachers, some looks like they were from Philippine? not too sure. Anyway, I did not go back to them again for my second child this year. My second child used to attend Chinese leson there, and came across during lesson time, the English teacher came in to ask them to promote their lesson.

Sounds like hardsell tactics to me...preying on our young, impressionable children is NOT ACCEPTABLE :x :x

Thanks for the advice. I'll steer clear of Jiang.
