          Hi

          How to solve the below using models?

          1) Mrs Kim has a string 407cm long. She used 80.6cm of the string to tie some old newspaper. She used some of the remaining string to tie 7 parcels. She had 21.9cm of string left. If she used equal length of string to tie up each parcel, find the length of string she used to tie up each parcel.

          2) The total cost of 5 rulers and 2 books was $18. If 2 books cost as much as 5 rulers, what was the cost of 5 books?

          TIA.

                20 yrs ago
                Diff in age = 4u – 3u = 1u

                16 yrs ago
                Diff in age = 9p – 7p = 2p
                Difference in age between 2 persons is always the SAME.
                1u = 2p
                3u + 4 = 7p
                6p + 4 = 7p
                1p = 4
                Jane’s age now = 9p + 16 = 36 + 16 = 52 yrs old

                  hi wonder anyone could help me with these problems?

                  1) A group of 24 children sold some tickets for a charity show. Each ticket was sold at $5. Each boy sold 5 tickets while each girl sold 3 tickets. The boyus collected $40 more than the girls.
                  a) How many girls were there in the group?
                  b) how many tickets were sold together?

                  2) 30 pupils shared a box of sweets. Each girl received 4 sweets and eeach boy received 5 sweets. If the girl received 30 more sweets than the boys, how many girls were there?
                  I made assumption that all are boys and used value * unit. but i got stuck.
                  anyone can help?

                    There are 44 cars & bicycles.
                    There are 128 more car wheels than bicycles.
                    How many car and bicycle are there?
