Fur-ma:
since you asked when to call, okay my turn to email them wat time to call them. i dun dare to call too cos they normally got a lot of calls during these periods so they might not have the patience to entertain.
They told me can call on 14 July itself. If you are calling to check what time to call on 14th, please post their reply here. I don't dare call anymore. Think they are sick of my questions and may end up black marking me :oops:larkspur:
i know the council will meet to decide who will get the recommendation letter but i just wonder do they meet straight after the 2A2 registration over or have to wait until 14 th july Thursday then they have the meeting. There is a difference leh as it will mean for us who are waiting for the recommendation letter when to call them. i think i might be going straight down to huay kuan or call up them up -
I wonder why they can’t just post results on website. What is the concern?
The other feedback I gave them was that their faq says results will be posted to school n that school will contact us. But shhk tells me not to contact school but to check w them 1st. Like that v confusing exactly what parents should do. Already v stressful over whether can get our kids into a suitable pri school. Must huay kuan add to our stress??!! -
I think you can start at the time they are supposed to be opened. I think both sides should exercise patience. They are used to dealing with kancheong parents but of course, asked the same question 100 times, anyone will also start to sound a bit annoyed.
Actually I wonder why they cannot send email…or sms leh? -
Actually i went for the P1 registration talk organised by huay kuan last oct. They told us dun call the school, call them first if you did not hear anything from school. They also mentioned that they do not want any questions pertaining to the recommendation letters in case they accidentally say something wrong and the parents hold them ransom for it. I was also informed that every year when the times come for parents to check on recommendation letters issued, some parents will go direct to huay kuan to check and only to find out they are not issued, there will be plenty of verbal abuse and banging of tables at the reception. the lady told us they will normally send out the most patient colleagues to be there to take in the verbal abuse which can lasted for a few hours. They also mention we have to call huay kuan but the phone is mostly likely to be engagaed all the times with parents calling in and some parents actually screamed at the staff over the phone which means if one phone line ganna hold up by one angry parent for 1 to 2 hours, you imagine.
I think they should posted on the website. We can email them to check if we got the letter but not sms loh. They won’t entertain loh -
okay i got a call from huay kuan. the person says to call in on the 14th july starting 9am. If we want to email, we can do that but it will be slower. The staffs at 9am will start calling all the parents whether or not they got the letter . However he advised me not to go down to huay kuan cos there will be one big crowd of angry parents and parents who want to appeal. there will be one big queue of parents and each parent will take up more than half an hour. if you want to call the school, have to call in the late afternoon .the person told me it will take them 2 days to finish calling all the parents on the list on the status.

Yes, people very emotional on that day - can’t wait to get hold of the letter. can imagine the scenario at HHK …
