Totally agree!!!!! My colleague's friend has their DD in a really popular school but can't keep up with the pace. she couldn't get into the affilated school (also very good sec sch) and they have been trying to pull strings , just because of the brand name.... really nothing to say for that :faint:

No worry, you should donate if they need as much as $8000. I will try to take loan from bank if given a choice. If it so near and without taking school bus, I think it most likely worth it hor. eg. if 1 year school bus fees is $1,400, it will be $8,400 throughout the 6 years. This has not include time spend in the journey hor.

ya.. I would rather spend the $$ wisely..

For me, thou I agree education is very important in Singapore context, but if I need to donate to get a place.. and the amount is huge.. I don't think I will do that.. I will rather send him to a 'normal' neighbour school and use the $$ for him to go for enrichment classes/tuition etc etc..
