I was asking around for info about KCPPS and even called the school for info, but got rude answers. They even slammed the phone down on me within seconds, why can't entertain parents? Was upset cos could not get any info from them.
Hi ArianneKuang,
I am not surprised that you got rude answers and even got the phone slammed down on you. If I am not wrong, that was an elderly lady answering the phonecall, right?
Frankly, I kenna more than my fair share of such rude behaviour (even as a KCPPS parent). I WAS a KCCPS parent, but glad to have transferred my DS out shortly. I even got snubbed when I called to ask about CCA for my P1 boy, straight away she said NO such CCAs for P1s (without even bothering to listen to me out), but when I told her that the Principal told us will review on a 'case by case' basis, she had no choice but to relent and put us through to the CCA teacher-in-charge. Sometimes, I wonder why the school let such an 'atas' attitude staff handle the frontline service-oriented role?
The KCCPS teachers and even the Principal are nice and caring, just that this same caring attitude is not exhibited by their support admin staff, not doing justice to their caring teaching cohort. 一颗老鼠屎坏了整锅粥 : ) -
Looking at the number of applicants for AT so far, looks like high chance of balloting witin 1km

What's the problem? Can get in good, if not just register at nearest neighbourhood school and 6 yrs later aim for RI/Cat High/St. Nicks. -
the problem is … many think that 6 yrs later, the chance of entering RI / Catholic High / St Nicks not high, if their child don’t enter Ai Tong now.

Problem is that AT IS my neighbourhood school. It is the nearest school to my home. The next nearest schools are Catholic High and St Nics.Fur-ma:

Unfortunate misconception by parents. But I suppose we all just want the best for our kids. -

You are one of those caught in a win-win or lose-lose situation. win-win if you have the means to get into those schools before Phase 2C. lose-lose if you are stuck with Phase 2C and may end up sending your child to a far away school even though there is one right downstairs.
I feel for you. :snuggles: -

There are parents who would like to send their kids to nearby schs, but after counting the costs think that it is better to send the child to a school which is further away in Phase 2A than take a gamble at Phase 2C. And so we have alarming figures at Phase 2A.
I wonder if there is no such scenario, will P1 registration be less stressful for some parents?
It would be useful to see a breakdown of the registered students at Phase 2A, how many <1km, >2km, between 1 and 2km. -

Disagree. These \"branded\" pri schs have their fair share of pupils entering \"non-branded\" sec schools. -

heard that they may be changing school uniform next year. But no news yet. Black shoes. White socks. School badge is sewn on uniform.Sounds bad bad bad...cun imagine gg in...
Can anyone share on e uniform, shoes n socks?school logo or not?
is not that bad. maybe p1 registration time admin staff more uptight. don't we all have \"bad hair\" days? i have gone to the general office several times. the elderly lady is quite friendly and helpful actually.
go with your gut feeling. if you don't feel good registering there, then don't. it's still not too late. else register already must \"forever hold your peace\".
