Thks cwc. I saw my Ds name in the list. The strange thing Maths Hub called me to inform that my DS is selected for 2nd round. But, DS did not attend Maths Hub before. Wonder how they've gotten my number??? As such, I tried KS forum to see if I can get info to confirm. Indeed, I manage to do so. This forum is superb!!!!!! :lovesite:

Yes, Maths Hub has a way of contacting parents of students who made it through to NMOS Special Round. I think they produce some Math magazine which a lot of kids subscribe to so they have a database.

Looks like not only Maths Hub, MathsOasis too. Got a call from them as well. But since DS school is gonna conduct some classes for them, guess I'll stick to Sch lah.

School has not notified DS about the 2nd round, & we not getting any call from math hub / Oasis either …
Doubt that school will give any training for the coming week also , need to gear up for own preparation this weekend liao .

That's an invasion of privacy IMO.
Whether a child gets into the 2nd round, he/she will know it eventually through the school. There is no need for Math Hub to call the parents (if their kids are not MH's students) to \"inform\" them. :roll:

I was contacted by Math Oasis not Math Hub a couple of years ago when my dd got into NMOS Special Round. I think Math Oasis publishes some magazine that primary school kids can subscribe to. I was so blur then. Didn't even know that there was Math Olympiad training classes. My dd never attended any MO classes nor practised any papers. Just went and sat for the test and still got through to Special Round.
