DS is in ICL, after 5 lessons he can read a story book on his own and understand what he is reading. DH n i were :yikes:
didnt expect it at all...
i wanted to try abacus, any mommy here has any feedback on this?
my sis told me wont be useful when they are in P1, i dunoe if it is true...
ICL is I can read ? so far, i heard for 4,5,6.. classes that were recommended
english: I can read
Chinse: Berries
Maths: Abacus
My DD is not still with Shichida, am thinking to stop after year end, as i notice she is going left brain now.. not so much on right brain anymore. so got to get her to read/write/count.. muahaha -
WCW:
ICL is iCreative Learner. I meant he only attended 5 lessons and he could read the story book on his own with understanding. Last time DS was with ICR but after 1 year he can recognise the words but dunoe what the meaning. and I pulled him out after I managed to get a place for him at ICL

tt's what i heard abt Icanread from my DD's classmate mum. she said after 1 year still he cannot read.. even worst than ur DS. at least he can recognise words.. but other than this classmate. the rest all said IcanRead good. -
DS1 was not too keen in ICR at first due to a certain teacher. After I changed to another branch he is ok and I do see some improvement in his reading.
Berries is good. DS1 used to dislike this subject but he is happy learning there and his Chinese improved after going to this enrichment class. -
Morning Ladies :)!
iCreativeLearner is also a reading programme? I was thinking of placing DD2 in ICR since teacher said her reading is poor...
I was reading the reviews on ICR, they do pick out how to read but more of narrating rather than understanding the stories..? -
WCW:
well, not one program fits all children... might be gd for one but might not be gd for another

:goodpost: :hugs: -
agree with WCW! which is such a pain finding the center for DD
coz I am not inclined in trial and error with the centers

WCW:

in berries, one of my frd's boy dnt like to go coz of the teacher, whereas, her other boy (diff teacher) loves to go class -
WCW:
your DS so cute!! hehehehe
 same lah... it's really not easy to find something suitable and also gd teacher...
but lucky that we found ICL and teacher gail
DS loves to go ICL till asked me if he can go everyday :faint: i told him mommy will be broke if he goes everyday, then he said then ask his CC to employ teacher gail as he likes her alot :faint:
I dont get such feedback from DDs on teachers... they usually talk about the class and what teacher taught them and their friends.
DDs love going to their mandarin class, kind of get questioned if they dont :skeptical: , DD1 enjoys maths alot now, she used to have a mental block about maths and she enjoys it now. She had 3 different teachers before and she was happy with all of them although her teacher Kendrick is her fav.
