Gurmit driving a Lambo - signs of a midlife crisis?
-
LOLMum:
I guess if you're driving a lambo because you want a flashy car, nothing gets flashier than bright orange. :laugh:there is a white lambo in my tiny condo too. my kids and i love to check it out. luckily its designated car park lot is not next to mine.
used to see the orange ones on the road which is a really ugly colour (to me) but this is a white one and gosh, the body shape is really nice.
most mediacorp (besides zoe tay and fann wong) are filty rich from endorsements etc. most recent one to throw about 900k into the making of films is michelle chong. -
Oh if you drive a lambo better make sure you’re a good driver coz you’ll be held up to scrutiny by other drivers. Can you imagine you drive a lambo and can’t parallel park?
-
jtoh:
But I thought some of those mentioned who live in the EC are high flying artistes who endorse products too.
Not all MediacCorp artistes earn big bucks. The big bucks come from endorsements etc. Basic salary with MediaCorp not that high.carebear:
They are so rich but why some still stay in executive condo?
I thought EC got income ceiling? -

This is an illusion thing. Men generally want to be seen to be more successful than they really are. So let us say John is a Camry-level executive. He would be driving a Merc because he no longer aspires to a Camry and wants to be at the next level. They are so rich but why some still stay in executive condo?

Of course there is a group that does the reverse - what some call the Quiet Millioinaires. These people are already successful and actually take the effort to dress down, look average, but invest their wealth to benefit their family's future rather than trying to look rich.
This world is a strange place. :? -

It is true about the male ego.

One of my male colleague stays in a HDB flat but drives a 5 series BMW.
I once asked his wife whether they are going to upgrade, and she said if they upgrade then they cannot have the BMW.
Another male colleague who drove a Toyota Camry for a few years said he felt \"mah loo\" driving a Toyota and upgraded to a BMW. -
What’s so malu abou driving a Camry? Strange people.

Car is a depreciating asset, and the $$ paid for car is by no mean a small sum. What is impt is the car can serve its practical purpose, and I do not want to end up \"slaving\" for the car for the next xx years. The additional sum can be better used for investing in kid and our future. -
I always notice most male drivers of nice expensive cars
are either old or not handsome (no offense if you own one).
Why?
Maybe life is fair… -

By the time they reach that age, they are successful so can afford the car. If you see a young handsome driver, must be rich man's son  No offenceI always notice most male drivers of nice expensive cars
