      Definitely. Not just Chinese. Once you score a B your T score will be dragged down.

        Thanks Brenda. I think the higher% A/A* for MT is related to the smaller base. It requires a lot of hard work to get even close to A for CL, that's my opinion.

            5 weeks to Prelims and 10 weeks to PSLE. Try a few good maths questions regularly to maintain the edge in PSLE Maths.


            Try this P5/P6 Maths Question.
            Mary and Andy have some money left in their cash card. If Mary spends $2 each day and Andy spends $3 each day, Mary would have $24 left after Andy had finished using all his money. If Andy spends $2 each day and Mary spends $3 each day, Andy would have $29 left after Mary had finished spending all her money. Find the money each of them have in their cash card.

                We come across questions like above but usually would be the same person left with nothing instead of both left with some amount each.
                (may be for our case only)

                Is the amount left for Andy: $87 and Mary: $72 ?

                Appreciate you to share with us the best method to solve the above question.

                  Many bright kids from mission schools (except St. Nicks and Cat High), MGPS and SCGS pri are punching below their weights for PSLE each year due to poor scores for CL. In this area SAP schools, GEP schools, SHHK schools and popular neighbourhood schools do better. That explains why the fomer PSLE results fare miserably in comparison with the latter. However, this situation will not happen at sec level as MT plays a less crutial part. You ask a kid from any of the latter school and he/she will say CL is easy.

                  Mainly english speaking families just need to move away from sending their kids to mainly english primary schools to reverse this situation.

                    Yes, have to ensure a decent score for Chinese. That's why this year for DS, emphasis has been on Chinese since that is not his strong subject.

                      It’s not that difficult to score an A in PSLE chinese after moderation, as >80% score A/A* nationally. BUT an A could mean a low A or a high A and that makes a difference.

                        For students to score A* or High A in MT, their difference lies in their paper 1 which comprises of oral, listening comprehension and compo writing. Students who can exel in this area, trust they belong in > 80% category
