True. It's always easier on hindsight. Next year you'll be able to laugh about and tell other parents about your experience too.
:xedfingers: I hope to laugh hard at my own experience :xedfingers: ...but 2 years later again I have to :nailbite:
for ds2 ....need more :xedfingers:

Hi jtoh
Definitely. At PSLE, CL takes up 25% of total weightage. By secondary school, it's just 1 of 7 subjects. And by Pre-U, you can even drop it if you manage to clear HCL at O levels.Edureach:
As a pupil progresses in his/her academic pursuit, the importance of MT declines. Is never a subject of debate at pre university level. Anw, MOE has made it so easy for students to meet the uni's MT requirement ie a D7 for O-level HCL or a pass at H1 MTB.
Very easy. No worries.
So parents with kids weak in CL, do not despair.
Thank you for sharing and as this is 25% we have to work hard to get a good grade and happy to know thing is getting better in secondary and Pre-U. -

Actually, for the kidsβ own good, they should ensure they have a decent Chinese standard with the future being China becoming a strong power in world economy. Singaporeβs Chinese standard is not high (compared with China, Taiwan, HK, Malaysia, etc.) With China nationals picking up English quickly, our bilingualism advantage will be gone in no time if we do not maintain. Even the Westerners are looking towards the East. Thatβs even more reason for us to engage our kids in improving their Chinese.
Iβm putting in much more effort to help my kids in Chinese thruβ songs, TV, story books etc. Hope it works in long term. -
