That’s quite an unpleasant experience. Is it a new teacher, untrained or experienced? Should go ahead and talk to the school! Anyway the one who taught P3 last year and teach small group now, what if she does that to the small group of pupils too? A very experienced teacher is it that’s why still keep her?

The school time start from 8am and ends at 2:45pm which is what I like.
For my daughter, her class form teacher will email to parents to update on any instructions, school work, important messages, etc.
Parents will get the info even their child failed to inform them.
I would recommend NVTPS to parents who can't decide which school to choose but let see whether they will have balloting this year!
I like the idea of the teacher emailing to parents. I don't think all teachers do that.. Really going the extra mile. Which level is your child in? I hope my child's teacher will be like him/her in future! Now still deciding which sch to send my child to. Actually i heard of some good teachers too and the teachers here are quite young. Probably explains the reason for the many new initiatives by the school. -

Maybe u shld talk to e principal b4 deciding. Honestly, I was pretty put off by e principal wen i went to their open hse 2 yrs back. He come across as somewhat arrogant to me (as he boast abt his academic achievements in a dialogue session during e open hse) & evade some of e questions parents asked.Hi,
I'm also still considering various schools for my P1 registration this year. considering HIPS coz I can get in phase 2B, however by looking at their spots getting filled up so fast my balloting chances are low as I'm >2km away.
My 2c options are either Rivervale/Compassvale Primary as both are within 1km from my place, however they're also very difficult to get in.
My last options if I don't get in is either NV or Sengkang Primary (provided they still have vacancy).
I was reading from page 1-13 of this forum and almost all of the comments are good, until puppy80 commented how the teachers are no good etc.
I'm a bit concerned about this and am wondering if anybody has any not so good experience to share regarding their children at NV????
What are my chances of getting into NV on phase 2c supplementary?
thanks so much!!!
I believe in a Chinese saying, 上梁不正, 下梁歪. So i did not register my DD in NVPS eventually.
U may wish to find out more options b4 deciding on NVPS. In tis way, u can make a comparison better. I have went to a few sch for their open hse & PV selection interview. Some were impressive & some were not. Although a gd principal can't ensure a gd sch (agn depends on wat u tink is gd), but IM a believer of everythg starts fr e top.

Hi cantbearit2,
thanks for your input. I'm going to attend NV's open house next week, so I'll be able to meet the principal and listen to what he's going to say about himself and the school. It's my first time to attend any school open house, so unfortunately I can't make any comparison..... hope he can make a good first time impression on me
May I know which school did you end up choosing for your DD, did you have to go through balloting?
Since we already know the result of phase 2A, there is around ~15spots more at Compassvale vs Rivervale.
Since both are within 1km from my house, any tips on which school should I choose for my Phase 2C?
thanks! -
Both are old teachers, still living in the old ERA.
