Yup definitely got balloting but i think will be for closer proximity compared to last 2 years have been for >2km.. :gloomy:
Correct me if I am wrong - looking at this index for Rulang - this to say 50% place (19) will go to Phase 2B and reminding 19 for Phase 2C. That is to say there will be a definite balloting for Phase 2B! :yikes: :yikes: -
this yr for P2B, how many parent volunteers for Rulang ?

Hi lakesidemumalng:
For rulang at phase 2b, it is almost confirmed all within 1km get in or ballot at within 1 km. Sigh!
Hi alng,
Do you know how many PVs staying within 1km from Rulang? What about the community leaders? Can I presume that the community leaders stay < 1km? If so, are they going to share the 19 vacancies with the PVs?
Sorry to interrupt. Am I right to say you are in phase 2C, if yes, then you just need to consider 19 vancancies for your phases. Definitely phase 2B will be taken all up, being it from PVs or GRL.
Thanks. -
Rulang called for a meeting with those PVs who stayed > 2km this morning. Tomorrow is another meeting with another group of PVs. I just came from that meeting. The message is very clear. If you are not within 1 km, you will be unsuccessful at both phase 2B and 2C. It is stressed that the priority is to register for a school within 1 km in phase 2C.

Oh dear! It's never good to turn away PVs who've volunteered so much of their time. -
Goodness… all the efforts are wasted for those performing PV in order to qaulify for P2B

Rulang’s hands are tight. The waitlist forms are offered and we are now on the official waitlist. We are also told that we will be given priority if vacancies arise. But we know what are those chances! It is good to volunteer in a school so that parents get to know the school better.

based on this yr registration exercise - looks like parents who thinking of offering PV work for school of choice in future need to stay < 1 km then got chance, esp. if the school is v hot & popular.
otherwise, very very sad to have offered so much precious time, energy & effort to do PV with high hopes, then last minute got turned away by a sudden disappointing school announcement, just bec stay > 2 km. -
Well, it will be harder to be selected as PV for Rulang now. They have close to 300 PV applications for next year P1 registration and maybe only 10% or less will be successful. Wondering if the P was implying just now that we should be glad that we were given a chance to be a PV…LOL. The success rate for our batch of PV was 18% so 82% was rejected and denied a chance to be PV.

LKVM,
agree with you! What’s the point of cutting down 1 class from a popular existing school, to open another new school to attract students go there ? The popular, existing school already has so many processes & teaching curriculum established, in place & proven to be working well, hence it’s so hot and popular.
whereas the new school has yet to prove itself with a new P coming onboard, with new school teachers to get with the new P, so many other new processes & lots of teaching curriculum to work out, to test, to prove over many years.
