My MIL is also looking after my 2 other kids.. hehe.. so to ease her load.. we thought of putting him to student care so that at least he can does some work before attending school...

I did source for student care before... looked around for a few months and didn't feel comfortable with them.

I could be used to CC so find it hard to accept the standards for student care.....

Why and what is it that you are not comfortable with?

      What about the standard?

If your MIL can \"visit\" him, then can pass him something that's cooked and more variety.

Student Care in NH @ $240 per mth:

            1) Not allowed to shower after class
            2) Lunch and Snacks catered from Canteen Operators
            3) In classroom most of the time, so must wear socks & shoe
            4) Playtime is only after 5pm

Student Care in DS’s CC @ $350 per mth:
            1) Can shower
            2) Fully aircon
            3) Homecooked meal
            4) 1 hr to do homework (only)
            5) Playtime starts from 4pm (outdoor play, water play etc)

My advice is to visit the in school student care. it is very different from those setup outside the school. There's a reason why they can charge lower than outside rate.

I have not visited the student care @ the school yet but I have understood that the children are more comfortable with external operators for various reasons (esp those which also provide childcare).

For us, we just need that extra few hours so DD1 can have proper lunch, do her work before we pick her up. Knowing my girl, she works best when under external supervision (she wl not be picky on food or bargain to do less work when its really minimal -- not even 5mins effort). Thus, the effective & efficient arrangment will still be (1) finish daily work at SC (2) revision @ home if applicable (3) family time. We shall see and adjust accordingly when it comes 🙂

The external one which I am considering is charging $400 😓 Guess different setup meets different situation. Have to check the place to see what's suit individual...

You already checked out EB's student care rate? I think most likely K1 will be home instead of going to BASC. I think he will miss his friends in cc.
