My worry also...if let him stay at home, he will watch TV all day.
i juz kpo ask teacher huileng for the brochure to compare.
imagine so much playtime, even waterplay. i think my DS will enjoy if send him there.
but likely send to my mum's place, FOC. need to cancel all his SCV cartoon channel if he dun do his hmwork first. -
Hi all, nice to meet u all here..
Happen to chance upon this thread while browsing around the forum abt pri school n P1 registration.
I have a 6yo boy (Sep 2005) and a 2yo gal (July 2009).
M super stress now regards to the P1 registration also.
I stay ard paya lebar area n wanted to reg Kong Hwa as i m within 1km.
But they always ballot for this phase so m not too sure whether to take the risk or not.
My back up plan is Tanjong Katong Pri as i m 1-2km n there is no balloting for this phase judging from the past history.
Anybody registering for the same school?

@NH any teachers / tutors for homework and revision? What's the menu like?Student Care in NH @ $240 per mth:
1) Not allowed to shower after class
2) Lunch and Snacks catered from Canteen Operators
3) In classroom most of the time, so must wear socks & shoe
4) Playtime is only after 5pm
Student Care in DS's CC @ $350 per mth:
1) Can shower
2) Fully aircon
3) Homecooked meal
4) 1 hr to do homework (only)
5) Playtime starts from 4pm (outdoor play, water play etc)
Both also got pros & cons. Which one would you recommend?
For CC, when the child is in P2, P3,....will the time for homework increase? Or during SA, CA period, will they increase hw / revision time? Since it's CC any tutors to help with hw/revision? -

Ya.. we thought of that too. but can only pack thing like biscuit, bread.. those small snack... think he will eat till he sianz.. -
Tokidoki:
precisely.. school will have homework and more homework from student care..
so far, 2 of my colleagues withdraw from student care that gives homework. the kids could not cope with hmwork from school, where got time for student care's one.
prefer an environment where they can relax before going to school or relax after coming back from school.... -

Am just concern about the cramp space for both centre.Student Care 1
- shower within premise
- No Naptime
- has tuition
- If need Student care to fetch DD, need additional money.
- School Holidays - it will be additional $5 per day + materials cost
- classroom quite cramp
- I went and noticed the teacher just sits at a side and tells the kids to do their homework
- the sch was walking distance to the primary which I came from so dont need bus arrangement
Student Care 2
- No shower within premise i think
- very cramp 1 common area for all primary to mingle with.
- changing area is within the community centre
- No nap
- have to arrange for bus transport , if DD has CCA. monthly stays the same but will need to arrange bus transport for DD for her CCA. additional $$$
- Tuition included. There will be homework from student care as well
Also you able to judge the standard of tuition in centre 1? -

in NH, i think ard 30 kids per class. there will be teacher with them. no additional hmwork from the student care. menu include nasi lemak, fried rice, fried noodles etc.@NH any teachers / tutors for homework and revision? What's the menu like?

in CC, i think they will offer tuition lesson. so it's up to you to sign up. Not sure if hmwork time will increase or not. the one i checked, in P5/P6, parents can opt to send the kids 2 days per wk or 3 days per wk, due to CCA commitment. fee will be reduced then. -
