          Hi AgonyMum,
How old is your kid? I think you can try to get the info and read from <a href=\"http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=128\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"All about pre-school maths enrichment\">this thread</a> if your kid is pre-schooler. Or from <a href=\"http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=287\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"All about primary school maths enrichment\">this thread</a> if your kid is primary shooler. I have read some MPM comments there.

Hi,MPM got many branches all over Singapore.I am residing in the north and have a few choices...Admiralty,Woodlands civic,Yishun,Sembawang.
Got any feed back regarding any of these branches??Been told that the effectiveness of training is closely linked to the instructors involved.
Would welcome any comments from parents who have sent their children to the above mentioned branches...
            Thanks very much!!

My girl has been taking MPM since K2. Up to now, she is still enjoying MPM classes and ask if she can go MPM every day…

This is how it work in MPM:
                  1. An assessment test has to be taken during enrolment so as to determine level.

                  2. 2 books to complete each week (the booklets are very colourful). you can take 1 book in a day or 2 books in a day. My girl is taking 1 book per day so we have to travel to the centre twice per week. Student have to complete about 9 pages in each booklet in the centre (with teacher guidence) and the next 9 pages have to be completed at home. Then submit the booklets the following week. Do not mark the booklets as the teacher will do it so that they know how are the kids performing and correction have to be done on the spot.

Currently my girl is with Toa Payoh MPM, guess that is the best centre in the north (in term of ennvironment). I know there are students coming from sembangwan and further.

What i like about MPM is it make children to think. By looking at the questions, they are not able to answer, they need to think. this will improve their thinking skill and analytical skill. Moreover, I do not have to worry about her maths revision. i seldom ask her to do maths revision as she has enough of practise in MPM so i can focus on other subjects.

Hope i manage to clear some of the doubt about mpm…

                    thank you for information.

I heard from my boy classmate. Not keep writting method. but all with creative tools.
and may need to do homeworks. which taugh before.
                    have to write independently.
                    (what if the child not)

Which i my boy those independent. which always hv to guide along.
Its not suit in MPM then?

Every child rather to see more exciting tools & creative tools. instead of keep writting keep repeat with assign black & white.

My main worries as my boy not independent as well. :stupid:

Hi janice_0950, yes, creative tools will be used and there are always new tools. maybe that’s why my girl love it as there are always new things to explore.

why not call up a centre near you and let your son have the assessment being done 1st. Explain to him there are homeworks and have to be done independently. Maybe he will like it as the booklets are very lively and colourful. He may be also excited to use the tools…

Both my children had been to MOM for 2 yrs. I feel that it is good to send them there before P1 to give them intellectual exposure & training. But I switched to home 1 to 1 tution when they are in primary 2 cos I feel that it is more focused and exams oriented.
