KSP… my dd has gone thru this practical Assesment since p3, I was as clueless as u . ive been told in the past theres nothing to study as its just practical.
i asked my dd, she mention that they do not touch on any specific topic… For life science, its basically observation, a specimen eg. flower will be given, she says they have to observe and make their conclusion.
For physical science, they are given procedural instructions to follow and to record their observations and conclusions.
Hope this will shed some light on the practical assesment. -

i intend to send my dd for maths enrichment starting P4 next year, which centre would you recommend? the main objective is to let her has enough practice and exposure to handle those tough and tricky maths questions in upper primary.. thanks.... -

I think there are 58 confirmed p2b PVs. What I don't understand is how come there is 0.00 risk of ballot when as I understand there will be 82 / 2 = 41 (which is more than the confirmed # of p2b)end of P2A2 (12 July 2011):-
school, Total, Phase1, P2A1, P2A2, %Taken, Remaining Vacancies left.
Raffles 270 85 37 66 188 70% 82 vacancies left

divide the pie and share equally - P2B will have 41 allocated, P2C another 41.
this yr P2B 58 PVs already exceed the number 41 allocated, by another extra 17 more. furthermore plus another unknown number coming in from grassroot RC leaders last minute. Definitely P2B will start balloting.
hopefully out of entire 58 PVs cohort going to ballot, very few stay < 1 km. Then those residing > 2km still can catch glimpse of a chance to ballot.
but if many 58 PVs stay < 1 km or between 1 to 2 km range, then those > 2km may consider alternative … Bukit Timah primary.
whr got 0 risk ? all 58 PVs face risk - matter of high risk or low risk ! -
hi gracierei,
regarding yr qn about 0 risk, ChiefKiasu had replied you:-
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/event/p1-registration-2012-phase-2b
school website had just refreshed the table, had just allocated 41 seats each under P2B, and P2C:-
http://www.rgps.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=52943
last yr 2010 for P2C, the table shows that those residing > 1 km no chance to ballot. Only those staying < 1 km can ballot. -
KSP… there are many maths centres to go to but again it depends on yr childs personality too. There are different centres that offer different methods but sometimes our dds may not take to their method of teaching even if they are good.
Most of the girls are at learning lab but some find their worksheets rather difficult, the homework can be kind of heavy at times but neverthless they do benefit frm it. -
coming Monday for those who successfully got in after balloting, maybe can also ask admin staff - how do they assign yr child to P1 classes ?
is it based on sequence of the registration number, according to surname, or in random ?
