I recently moved to Hougang and found out that Holy Innocents and Montfort Junior are within 1 km from from my place. I cant consider Montfort as I have DS and DD ... what is the chance of Holy Innocents having to ballot with 1km under phase 2C this year? Do I need to be a catholic to eligible for phase 2C? so stressful now! Thanks!

If you are within 1km, HIPS is historically ballot within 1km. On the bright side, you get a chance to join the balloting process. Montfort historically still has alot of seats left so no hurry. But note that this year they have a reduction of 30 places. Or rather, quite a no. of schools in Hougang area has a reduction of 30 places eg. HIPS, Montfort,etc... so I am unsure if this will have spillover effect. You might want to monitor the situation.

Personally based on historical trend, I think I would \"try my luck\" at HIPS since I am within 1km. Worst scenario is to put my child in montfort if he can't get in via ballot at HIPS. Meanwhile for dd, there is CHIJ (OLN). Are you within 1-2km??? We might be staying near as I am within 1km to montfort, HIPS and CHIJ.

Updates on 2B registration as of now… 51 registered with 56 vacancies… so if nobody register tomorrow, all will be successful

Yes. All 'extra' will go into 2C

Latest updates on HIPS, 60 registered so far; thus ballot will be require for those out of 2km. Those within 1km and 1-2km should be quite safe.

Sorry to miss this post. Was watching too many threads and got distracted. We are along upper serangoon so HIPS is walking distance for us. But my kids are not there so don't worry no competition there

lol, not worried about competition, I am actually hoping to find mummies who are the same as me, worrying about getting any vacancies in phase 2C, need some emotional support :hugs: ....

what is the chance to get into HIPS? only 56 vacancies in phase 2C right? this is so nerve wrecking, worse than any major exam that I had taken in my life!
