Hi Pecalis,
Sorry, where do you get the papers to practice huh? Son blur blur got in and I did not let him try a single qn yet! He was surprised as he was called up for Math remedial in class. Haha! Only this mummy of his told him tt I always believe his math is very good, just lack practice for exposure, speed and accuracy since this mummy neglected him last yr as dd1 was taking psle.cwc:
Oh God!! Mommies, did you try the special paper yourself? DS wanted to pit against me.....so I tried the 2008 paper first few questions. :yikes: :faint:
Just 6 questions already took me 30 mins, how on earth to finish 20q in 90mins :nailbite:  and I got half of them wrong lor....... Didn't have the heart to continue liao......devastated
OK, no matter what DS come back with, I'm gonna :rahrah: :celebrate: Sometimes, we get too engrossed in all these awards and competitions that we forgot to :hugs: the kids for the good work and effort
TIA
Maths Hub sells it.....there a a few outlets, you probably wanna check their outlets. They sell the SMOP booklet too....so you can buy in advance for next year

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply - took a quick look at their website and decided not to subject him to such additional training. Thanks again

agree, no point pushing. My DS only managed to complete 2010 & 2008 paper. Nw into 2009, but don't think he can finish it.. Just told him this morning to try his best can liao.... oooppsss... I've yet to think of what to reward him... & he hs yet to ask for reward too!!!! :roll:CoffeeCat:
btw if ur kids run out of nmos materials to try , can try the smops. Apparently the difficulty of nmos is approaching smops.

Thanks.....think I'll leave it for next year
My son only managed to try out 2006 & 2007. Both only managed 15q correct out of the 20q. So that's probably where he is ..... anyway not enough time too. No point pushing now .... can mean can, cannot means still cannot :boogie: Whatever it is, I have promised him his Terriyaki Chicken rice - his request for getting in special round

Thanks Pen88 and jtoh for your replies. Was out of town the past few days.If your dd is very good in swimming, it's an easier path in to DSA. Swimmers who consistently get medals at Nationals get spotted by the DSA school coaches way before the DSA process. The parents are approached and their chances of CO are VERY high.
Conversely, there are hundreds of math whiz in Singapore vying for DSA places. It used to be that a Platinum or Gold would stand you in good stead. Now that's no longer a guarantee.
Yes, i think it is easier for my dd to get gold or silver for the National Interschool Swimming than for NMOS. She got 2 golds for individual events last year. But I don't think we will use swimming for DSA next year either. I prefer that she gets in through academic. She's in GEP. -

wow, GEP & sports talent! This is incredible. Read in DSA thread that GEP girls seems to have higher chance getting into RGS & NYGH. Your girl should have no prob esp she has extra talent! Think they'll grab her.

That's fantastic. Your dd sounds very talented. During your DSA application through GEP domain, you can highlight her sports achievements. That'll stand you in even stronger stead for a confirmed offer.
