[Pasir Ris] Primary Schools
-
hi all
Im contemplating between two primary schools, one is Temasek and the other is pasir ris primary sch…Im residing in pasir ris…
can anyone give me their opinions?
thanks a lot!! -
Hi karentyp
Pasir Ris Primary in Phase 2C for the past 2 years require balloting within 1 km, hence if you stay of out 2 km from the school, you will not get a chance to even ballot.
When you mention sending your gal in 2010 meaning you will be registering in 2009 right? Then you’ll be too late to offer PV for Pasir Ris Primary. -
hi,ive already applied for PV in both pasir ris and temasek pri sch...so i guess its not to late....
bt now im just contemplating about the school distance...and the sch system...repuatation.... -
Hi
Day 2 numbers are out, surprisingly Pasir Ris Pri still has vacancies. Anyone eyeing that school but have yet to register? -
barney:
Only 4 places left out of 106. Take up rate increased 15% today. It's very difficult for Pasir Ris to escape a ballot situation by the end of tomorrow. The question is whether it is for less than 1km or 1-2km.Hi

Hi Chief
Agreed with your analysis but high chance for ballot between 1-2 km or even out of 2 km. I called up the school earlier to check, there were like 7 or 8 applicants out of the 2 km range so those within 1 km should be safe. What a great difference from the previous 2 years where balloting is required for those within 1 km. Too bad I’m out of 2 km… -
Hi
I need some advice from the experts here. My first choice is actually Poi Ching, which is within 2 km but confirmed need to ballot.
My 2nd choice is Elias Park Pri. I’m not sure if I should simply give up Poi Ching and go Elias Park to get a confirmed place. However, looking at the take up rate for Elias Park, with still 59 vacancies after day 2, I felt I may still stand a chance in 2C supplementary, should I fail in the Poi Ching ballot. Really at a loss now.
What will you do if you were in my position? Any feedback/suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance! -
Hi Barney,
I am far from an expert as I have just joined this forum. As far as i know, based on the hear say in pasir ris estate, Elias Park is rated 3rd in the area. Poi Ching has a history of 1- 2km balloting practice.. Personally, i cant imagine the situation of being not selected in phase 2C.
Its pretty tricky. I will not take the risk of Poi Ching if i were you. Can you possibly PV at Poi Ching? That will be best... Have you considered Gong Shang? Hearsay is Gong Shang takes in more PVs. -

Hi KT, I believe barney is already heavily in the midst of balloting in Phase 2C, so PV is out of the question.
Actually, Poi Chin only exceeded the available vacancies by 3 places (111 for 108 places). If I'm you, I would take the odds and go for balloting in Poi Chin. If I'm one of the unlucky 3, then so be it... at least I've tried, and there's always another school such as Elias Park.
Oops... I just realized that barney was probably contemplating this on the eve of the final day... so this message is probably too late. Hope you were not one of the 5 that dropped out of the Poi Chin race on 31 July. -
Hi
Thanks KT and chief for the respond, though it did come too late. Anyway the situation in Poi Ching made my decision easier, Poi Ching requires balloting for within 1 km, hence no chance at all for me to register since I’m within 1-2 km…haiz, must be those parents eyeing for St Hilda’s switched base over to Poi Ching, it really didn’t help that both schools are near each other and fall within 1 km for many households in Tampines.
So my child has been confirmed a place at Elias Park, good to say that the whole P1 registration thingy is over for me now…with the primary education for my girl just begun.
