Hello to all the new mummies joining MCS,

In general, my P1 gal enjoyed the school curriculum very much but hopes to see improvement in toilet and canteen cleanliness. The school will go single session in 2012. There are regular tests/ exams for every term and semesters. There is also voluntary CCA for P1 in which ur gals can join dance club, speech and drama, gym and etc , once a week before school starts. Hope this brief summary helps πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for your update LLX. What time does single session start school? Is it 8 am? I read on the website that there is 2 hr type CCA program me incorporated into school hours.. Any idea what that is about?

              Hi michyms

Yep I'm an old girl, both pri and sec πŸ™‚

              Hi LLX04,

Glad to hear that your daughter is enjoying P1 at MCS. It's important as it'll be a huge transition from pre-sch to pri.

Toilet and canteen cleaniness to improve?? Guess somethings don't change πŸ˜›

School going single session in 2012?? So soon, thought the fund raising has just gotten started for that purpose.

gorilla, that’s great. Pity there is no more secondary school now at MCS, then we’ll have to fret all over again when they in P6 over secondary school πŸ˜›

How come they have to raise funds to go single session?

Yep michyms. Would have been much easier if the secondary still exists. Guess, the girls will have to work hard for the secondary sch. Anyway, 1 of my friend told me, no diff cos for all u know, she might not want a diff secondary sch next time πŸ™‚

MCS is a govt aided sch and if not wrong they don't get all the funding from the govt, only a certain %. Govt will cover the basic and for extras like gym etc, will need to fork out $.

gorilla, the girls will have to decide which secondary school they want and work for it πŸ™‚ Having an affiliated school is not always the best thing. If they need to count on the affiliation to enter a certain good secondary school, then its also means they will be competing with very smart ones who get in on their own merit.

HI cantbearit2 , sorry for my late reply and thanks for the feedback. Sounds this is a good school. I’m looking for a school not only focus on academic but value charater and moral building as well. My DD was with Marymount Kindergarten before and the loving/ caring/ supprting environment is quite impressive. is this same as in MCS?
