If I am not wrong, should be 9+55=64.

I am registering for gs phase 2c too. All the best to us, hope we get the places. Most likely will need to ballot, this school is much sought after.
      hi yap_susan!

so you are also trying for GS like me 😄
good luck to both of us!

i think i got it wrong, 55 number of seats and 46 is the total of application under phase 2B.
i kind of regret not going for the PV, otherwise, i will be in under phase 2B as there are still 9 seats left
now got to try under 2C, very worried 🙏

        Hi Chloe,

Sometimes PV doesn’t guarantee. Like St Hilda’s PV, over scribed.
It is all right. Maybe have backup plan.
You stay within 1km from GS?
Did you go for the primary one seminar at gs last sat?

ya,i also heard PV doesnt guarantee a place, but for GS this time, they allocate 55 uder 2B, but only 46 registed. if i do, i would have got it loh  but too late for anything now.

actually i had already registered DD for Ngee Ann Pri in Marine Parade, DS is currently studing there in P3. but i was thinking is very far and wanted a school nearer to my house.

GS is within 1km, another school is Tampines North.
i will call GS next Friday to check the percentage of balloting, if chances is high, i will re-draw DD from NA and try GS. hopefully can get it, if not, TN will be an alternate choice.

i didnt attend, did you? was seminar helpful?

what abt you? is yours a DD or DS? currenlty which school is he/she in?

I attended the seminar. Quite helpful.

The gs principal says every year they do balloting for phase 2c.
My eldest son is 6 this year, I still have one daughter 5, and baby boy 1.5 yes. Hopefully can get in then I no need to worry for the rest of my children or transfer school.
My friend tried gs last year but didn’t get in. Her daughter got into tn instead. She is pleased with the school.

                  are you working?

ya, if your DS gets to go into GS, then you do not have to worry abt the rest. hope you get it.

I am thinking of TN too, but i am not too sure if its a good school.
so ur frd said TN is good? i need more details and feedback from there

i heard they had improved a lot over the yrs and also they changed principal.

I am living within 1km from Gong Shang, East Spring and Tampines North Primary. My choice will either try my luck to register my son for Gong Shang and go for ballot, or register him into Tampines Primary School which is within 2km with much lower risk of ballot. Will be grateful if any one can give me some valuable feedback if you were in my shoe.

Also, read from website that Tampines Primary has 99.4% PSLE pass last year and 81% of students go into Express stream. This is much higher than the 97%+ and 60%+ achieved by Gong Shang. The numbers don’t look right gauging on popularity. Can anyone help to shed some light? Thanks.

                      hi,

my neice is in Tampines Primary, P5.
what i heard from my SIL is TP is not bad, the principal used to be from some good school (i forgotten which one).

ya, i am also rather confused by the result they produce, why some schools are not as popular when their result were better.
i think its over hype by past history..

if you do not want to take the risk and play safe, Tampines North cfm can get it.
but most of the parents will want to try GS and if cant get then go to TN, what i worry now is, if i cant get into GS, will i be able to get into TN in 2C sup, bcos all those who are get a seats in GS will flock to TN..

                        @staranz

There are many parents who just join the crowd, assuming that popular ones must be good. Same scenario can be seen at hawker centre。For some schools, if u take away the results of those in the gifted classes, the remaining classes may even be faring worse than neighborhood schools。 Yes, Tampines’ results have been improving for the past years but it has change of principal this year, no idea if that will have any impact.
