Bishan_mum, towei,

      Thanks for your advise šŸ™‚

Actually I wanted to do ad hoc to reach 40 hours faster. But the person in charge at the school said that since we committed to 1 hour a week, we must finish the 40 weeks. Even if we do ad hoc and completed 40 hours, we still have to do those 40 hours of recess duty we committed.

But I just found out there is one public holiday that falls on Wednesday on which we need to do our duty. So I better call them to see if we can do more.

wow, sounds like itz nt tat ez to hit 40hrs then...let alone 80hrs for branded schools...usually the adhoc only couple of hrs too?dun haf many hrs type like more than 5-6hrs?

under moe 40hrs is essential no restrictions on time frame to be completed no such thing except that 40hrs must be complete by 30th June 2009 for 2010 regsitration 30th june 2010 for 2011 regsitration that;s all
as long as the school 'hires' u as PV at least 1yr in advance, it should be enough time to complete?

Yes...for those who are committed to regular PV work like yourself, you'll need to be committed for the 40 weeks (i.e. 1 year, 10 weeks per term for 4 terms). For your case, you'll have a shortfall of an hour due to the public holiday, so you'd better start to ask for ad hoc work to cover it. I know of someone who has to complete 80 hours of PV work (of traffic warden duties), twice a week in the early morning, so she can't afford to miss a single session, and also has to do ad hoc work too to cover those \"shortfalls\" due to public holidays.

            tohwei,
I am working full time, so volunteering for one school is already very stressed even when I took turns with my hubby šŸ˜ž XingNan is my second choice, but I really cannot find the time to PV for 2 schools šŸ˜ž

You mean, can 2 parents do 1 PV requirement? AS in, take turns?

xingnan is diiferent you can do many thing at one go they are not particular they have a lot of activities going on. by the way no pne bother how many school you pv but you can only chose one. both spouse pv also 40 hours is combine that mean if you and your spouse do recess together , is consider only one person hr.

for twins is 80hrs but if ballot one vacancies is equivalant to two kids

Yes I take turns with my hubby, in the sense that he does 20 hours, and I do 20 hours.

Too bad grandfather/grandmother cannot help out

In some schools, husband and wife can do PV together to accumulate the 40hrs.
