Sorry what is CO that I hear some people mentioning here?

DSA=Direct School application at a sec sch of choice.

CO= Confirmed Offer = a placement in the choice of sec sch before sitting for PSLE.

To understand more abt DSA, go to the sec sch forum. HTH

        Scary:
        notabox:

Since it is not compulsory, will let ds decide himself.

Neighbour told me that she won't be letting her P1 grandchild wear the ethnic costumes as he has to change to PE attire subsequently. Too troublesome.

I thought Racial Harmony Day is today 21 July.
My daughter was asked to wear ethnic costume...even though she had to change to PE attire after that.

            Hey Mark,

            How's P1 in PH ?
I'm very curious. For eg, is there EL/CL spelling every week ?
How's P1 in PH? I didn't study in PH for P1 leh. :scratchhead: Oh, you're referring to my ds, kekeke ........

Yes, there's still EL/CL spelling every week. But the lists are pretty simple so I guess that's ok. However, I do noticed that the workload per subject has risen a notch especially for CL. So nowadays (I'm) not as free as last term. Why ds got more homework but it's me that's not busier leh? Hmm that's a very good qn.

For ds, besides getting the occasional 'comments' from Ts that he's not paying attention in class, otherwise everything is fine. He's still horrid at OE compre & erratic in his handwriting, though that's already an improvement over last term where his penmanship was permanently grotesque.

DS looks like enjoying his primary sch journey. That's the most impt thing. No doubt enthralled by retail therapy at the school bookshop.

Oh yes, I forget to mention. There are two threads \"All about GEP\" and \"2010 GEP screening test date\" that you might be interested in. Happy reading!

Nice to see you back here, comfy. Trust things are still 'comfortable' at NYPS? Hehe.

                I don't know what's her name...only she is a sweet-looking lady.
Saw her twice for the past 2 mornings. When son told me she is discipline mistress, I was surprised...will students be afraid when they see her ? So gentle leh.
Never judge a woman by her demureness ...... wait till she's angry maybe all the tiger stripes also come out, by then it'll be too late .... for the antagonist. 😓

I've just completed reading my first chinese storybook outside of text. It's a children storybook written by a PRC author about a train ride. Very nice. Chinese language can be so very beautiful. Why last time I never think like that leh? Nowadays must teach ds then bo pian force myself to brush up on the language.

Even though YOU didn't study in PH for P1, there's no doubt you are 'studying' again. I realized my daughter's workload has also increased this term...even though not a lot, but there is hw everyday on top of learning spelling/ting xie.

She is enjoying daily retail therapy at bookshop...so much so I've threatened to cut off pocket money if she continues. The day before, it was 2 magnetic balls ($1.50)...a whistle yesterday for $1. Angry Birds notepad and stickers earlier :slapshead:

Yes, I realised that for term 3, slightly more homework… I hear the same from my friends with kids in other schools… I guess the honeymoon is over, the teachers are increasing the intensity. tingxie has longer sentences too.

I restricted son to only $1 and provide him with snacks… still he manages to buy stuff fr the bookshop… to prevent letting me find out, he hides them in different parts of his bag… sigh…

I always quote a line from 'High School Musical'...'holidays are over, people' !!! Always reminding daughter she is no longer in kindergarten.

Where school retail therapy is concerned, my daughter cannot hide from me bcos she is excited to show her purchases :faint: I advise her to save up the money...advice always falls on deaf ears.
