[Jurong West] Primary Schools

qms:
Upper levels P3 and above would be 30-40.PaPaSmurf:
Hi puff, FPS kept each class at 30 max as indicated during the soft opening.
Typically all schools do that.
Only P1 and P2 30 max.
But ds1's P1 class had 24 or 26 at start of yr that time. Not sure exact no. I know cos his register no. always at the end, and then later in the yr some more transfer in, then his register no. change. So end of P1 he had about 28.
His school is a neighborhood one so didn't reach max of 30 in each class.
Hope in future even upper levels can have less students so each one will have more attention from the teacher. -
I am from Rulang Primary sch. frens have been telling me to put my dd in this pri sch. But i have shifted to AMK area. Is it crazy to do so??

Sorry. I think it is. Is Rulang that good a school worth travelling so much for?
If it's NYPS I can understand as it is very coveted but Rulang? -

Hi apple79,
IMHO, unless you have the intention to move back to Jurong West area, the travelling required is really too far. There are a couple of days in a week when the P1s need to be in school by 950am. So they will be in school for very long hours. With so much travelling and having to wake up early, I think it can be really exhausting for the little ones..

Rulang is a good school that takes care of the holistic development of her students. Just a couple of example, the P1s are given the chance to join extra classes for Calligraphy, Pottery and they just came back from a Vegetable and Frog Farm trip. P1s are also given to join CCA of their choice and they have 2 hours of PALs every Friday. The school organized a career talk for their P6 students last year!Is Rulang that good a school ....?

Rulang is the up-and-coming neighbourhood school as it is able to maintain its standard as well for PSLE. Yes, the stress is there but I know of a few upper primary kids there and they enjoy Rulang very much.
Just last year, 42 of her students scored 4A*. So it must be doing something right...
And if you are those who looks at awards:
\"Rulang Primary School became the first neighbourhood school to be awarded the Singapore Quality Class award in 2003.[2] Other awards include the People Developer Award, the School Distinction award, and the pinnacle award for educational excellence under the MOE Masterplan of Awards, the School Excellence Award (SEA).[3]\"
