I am from Rulang Primary sch. frens have been telling me to put my dd in this pri sch. But i have shifted to AMK area. Is it crazy to do so??

          Hi apple79,

IMHO, unless you have the intention to move back to Jurong West area, the travelling required is really too far. There are a couple of days in a week when the P1s need to be in school by 950am. So they will be in school for very long hours. With so much travelling and having to wake up early, I think it can be really exhausting for the little ones..

          JMHO...

Is Rulang that good a school ....?

If it's NYPS I can understand as it is very coveted but Rulang?
Rulang is a good school that takes care of the holistic development of her students. Just a couple of example, the P1s are given the chance to join extra classes for Calligraphy, Pottery and they just came back from a Vegetable and Frog Farm trip. P1s are also given to join CCA of their choice and they have 2 hours of PALs every Friday. The school organized a career talk for their P6 students last year!

Rulang is the up-and-coming neighbourhood school as it is able to maintain its standard as well for PSLE. Yes, the stress is there but I know of a few upper primary kids there and they enjoy Rulang very much.

Just last year, 42 of her students scored 4A*. So it must be doing something right...

And if you are those who looks at awards:

\"Rulang Primary School became the first neighbourhood school to be awarded the Singapore Quality Class award in 2003.[2] Other awards include the People Developer Award, the School Distinction award, and the pinnacle award for educational excellence under the MOE Masterplan of Awards, the School Excellence Award (SEA).[3]\"

            :celebrate:

                  Hi Zsmummy

No chance for phase 2C if you are going for balloting in Shuqun and Jurong Pri if yours beyond 2km, last few years they balloted within 1km. U may monitor but doubt any places left beyond 1km. I believe Frontier and lakeside will still have vacancy if you are in phase 2C.
Good luck and all the best.

Too bad, mine can't get in.

Broke past year record, balloting within 1km. Tink they will reduce the intake of the PV maybe to 15 and those must be within 1km.

Sorry GSK. I didn't mean to rub it in but felt that the i had to address that question.. i'm kinda protective when it comes to RPS

Yup really unexpected this year. I wonder how the current batch of PVs will sway.. the reduction is fair and I believe the person-in-charge is in for a very tough decision.

Actually, I also suspect that some of those staying within 1km would love to still be selected even at a risk of ballot since the probability is still higher than that at Phase 2C and again one extra chance...

It is a tough call... ๐Ÿ˜“
