Sorry I don't really get you. What do you mean? The perogative to register our children to whichever sch we fancy is ours to make, not anyone else's. Now whether our registration is successful or not is a totally different matter.hi everyone..

Tell him that he's correct! MUAHAHA.Today my ds came hme without spending a singlecent in school. He claims that markfch's ds is SPYing on him!! He said that he is afraid to go to the bookshop bcos he is worried that his ds will tell markfch n i will know... Lol!!
My ds always looks over my shoulder and reads what I post at this forum. We're really close in relationship. He read what you posted recently about your ds hiding things in different parts of his bag. He must have shared this with your ds in sch, which must have aroused his suspicion as a result.
I wished the opposite direction is also true; cos my ds just spent $9 on a \"very special\" watch and another $2.80 on a \"very special\" notebook today. And being the supportive dad that I aspired to be, I egged him on by praising his taste, much to the chagrin of my onlooking dw. -

Good in studies or good at spending my money?
One thing I cannot deny, my ds is really good in computer games. Olympic gold medalist potential in this aspect. -

It's really nice to know the parent of your child's classmate. For one thing, you know who to ask regarding homework or school-related stuff. Recently, I had the opportunity to get to know my the mum of my son's classmate. Now we both know what is going on in class when my son conveniently tells me he has forgotten what's for homework :slapshead: -
Hi Mummies & Daddies,
Is there any Parent Support Group in Pei Hwa ?
I know we are so very active here…some parents in other threads are amazed at the 4 digit thread we have.
Honestly, it would be great if there is a PSG…stressed parents like myself can voice out our concerns. -

Hi Drickmummy, I am an ex-PHPPS parent. My dd (sat for it last year) said that she cannot remember the 1st screening test but I remember her saying that the Math Paper is quite tough while the EL paper is easy. All the topics should have taught in school but not the Olympiad type of qn.
Ok, for the selection test, there is an EL paper follow by a GA paper. Then a Ma paper follow by a GA paper. EL paper consists of MCQ and short question. All the GA papers and Math Paper are MCQ. The EL paper consists of long passage (tiny words) of 1 to two pages. Can't remember how many passages. For the Math, they are rather challenging as my dd find it tough. The Math GA is mainly consists of puzzles, logic, picture (differences), patterns etc. Might be useful to expose kid to oly. type of qn. Who know they might include more of these qn in the test.
In my opinion, the tests are getting harder and harder each year.[/quote]
Thanks Comfy!
Seems like my boy won't make it lah but hopefully he can at least make it thru round 1...
my sister made it thru round 2 but only got to top 10%. She challenged my boy to beat her...
