He said that GY's P very dynamic and that the school received some award for the most improved PSLE results. What brochures did they give out? Sounds interestingHi Fur-ma
You mentioned that ATS P mentioned that he knows GYPS and KCPPS principal. Did he mentioned anything else other then the P in the respective schools?
I am very much decided to go for GYPS after the last presentation they had at the Bishan CC on Sat (16Jul) for preparation of P1.
Looking at the new facilities and the 'banners' they hanged outside and the brochures they gave out. Look very attractive!!
But i am just crossing my fingers that my child can do well! -
Yes Fur-ma, I know… I’m very worried and scared too…
But will try ATS… and hope for the best…
I jus hope the turn out is not as bad… -
Register on Wed, but gotta wait for more than a week for the results… man, imagine the anticipation… they should shorten the waiting period…

Don't mean to be negative but generally the turn out for 2c will be worse than 2b
Good luck to you all though. -

i kinda expected, mummyo... thanks anyway. -
Hi Fur-ma
It was a brochure regarding the school’s activities, new school facilities and teachers’ at work. And the pics of the children and staff look like they were enjoying!
On top of that, i heard from a neighbour, recently, they conducted P1 and P2 lessons and invited the parents to attend! Quite cool i thought.
And also, i heard this P from GYPS was previously a VP in Pei Hwa Presbyterian Pri (another SAP school in the West). I think she like quite ‘on’. Otherwise, how to push the school to get the PSLE award. Looks like she quite steady. -
Honestly, GYPS is not a bad sch, I have never seen ‘notty’ kids from that sch so far lah, (or maybe I have not seen enough?). This sch tends to be under the shadow of other ‘better’ schs such as kuo chuan and catholic high, so maybe that is the reason why the take up rate is so low.

Hi Smurf
I do agree with you. I went to P1 talk held at the CC on 16Jul, a few of their P4 and P6 kids were there to do some presentation.
One was on their experiences about the Overseas Trip to Malacca and the child was able to present with such great confident! I was impressed! A neighbourhood school also can help train the children to such great extend!
Another group of children actually set up a stall and was helping some association, i think the muscular thingy. They share about how they went to help and make friends with the patients. They did not shun away from the patients!! Can you imagine, sometimes as adults, we also dont quite dare to go near. Amazing children! -
That’s true… GYPS definitely falls into the shadows of the other schs in Bishan.
But Kuo Chuan, CH, GYPS r all >1km from my pl… KC and GYPS being furthest! CH I won’t consider cos 2nd child is a girl… boohoo -

hi, actually, talked to one of the MOE people who explained 2c in detail.
For 2C, there are alot of work involved. Cause primarily, they need to sort by distance, and then some schools do call parents depending on the vacancies/distances. So getting a call from school during the 3 days is a bad thingy.
I did called KCPPS and talked to one of the staffs. U can call them on the 2nd day around 5pm to sound out the numbers. And roughly u can get a gauge.
Anyway, I hope those who are balloting, the best of luck.
(For those in AT or CHC, sorry, I am not sure how it works cause I am pretty sure balloting is in force from start irregardless of distance.)
