Your plan is a good one and would have been perfect last year and the years before.. it is true that after what is happening this year, it is kinda hard to predict what is the outcome next year...Living >2km from Rulang, my little one will register next yr. submitted PV application, considering move to <1km from RL if got PV. Now thinking whether worthy, as this yr phase 2B so tough. :? 19 vacancies for 2B, means those PV staying <1km maybe got chances. :scared: , but guess they got 50 PVs mah.
I am not the lucky type in any kind of lucky draw leh. :imcool:
maybe shd just stick to the west grove or Jurong west as they all <1km and not as crowded as RL.
or maybe next yr not be so tough in RL? who knows~
still got time to think about this, :stupid: already headache.
not easy to be parents
There is also a high chance that the scholl might reduce the PV intake which would then tweak to chances to a more ideal situation. But of course, that will only make the challenge of getting accepted as PV even tougher..
IMHO, wait for your PV approval then go for the PV briefing to determine how many PVs are taken and what is the distance breakdown (if they would disclose). By then, you would also know the over-subscription rate of this year's Phase 2C for all 3 schools and should be able to gauge your chances slightly better.
Meanwhile, try to find out more about the other 2 schools, maybe you will find that that is your preferred option in the end.
Tough choices there, I know.. :nailbite: -

Even if you know the number of PV, you will probably not know the number of grassroot volunteers competing under same phase as PV. Still :stupid:Your plan is a good one and would have been perfect last year and the years before.. it is true that after what is happening this year, it is kinda

Totally agree. At the school I PV in, normally only 7-8 GRL will appear every year. That was the stats for the past few years. This year, suddenly got 13 GRLs! Plus the reduction in intake means have to ballot also. :stupid:

agree. Hence, I only indicated 'slightly'...

Another unknown factor is whether MOE/school will ask for 1 more class reduction in 2012!! :scared:

Hi, does anyone know how many GRL applied in Phase 2B for West Grove for this yearβs P1 registration?
My DS1 will need to register for P1 in 2yrs time, do we need to ask the school for application of PV now or end of the yr? -
To some parents, they devoted more time to help their children to cope with the upcoming sch life instead of struggling about fighting for PV etc. Like my neighbour's DD, really a good boy, very Guai and like to read or study. He is in boon lay garden pri sch, and happy about that. while my girl,
the totally different type, need to be pushed a lot to εε
will definitely wait for the results for PV of RL, see how. if not get, also feel relieved, not my problem liao mah, exempted from struggling-for-RL then
if RL restrict the PV number further down, the competition will be even tough liao, now already 300+ applicants? -

Best to check with the school after this P1 registration period, just in case they have a change in the processes.. -

nolah, doesn't mean devote time for PV then can't devote time to help them prepare for P1 mah
actually can be quite the opposite due to the kiasu-drive
sometimes, we also got to consider if a specific school is ideal for the character of our child..bingjun.g:

at least, I've not heard that not enough jobs for PVs in RL and don't need to fight for jobs one.. bingjun.g:

How do u know which sch fit for our child leh? The top sch shd hv much more pressure for the child, my girl is kind of shy and doing thing slow, maybe not fit her. hehe, actually she likes to play only~
Heard from the vice P of RL during the PV interview, said the applicant should be over 300+? I am the 270+
Nowadays it is more and more tough to be parents :stupid: struggling to get PV, at least 40 precious hours, work with and support and love our child thru the sch years... :scared:RRMummy:

Rulang, Shuqun and West Grove are already balloting. No point wasting time. I am worried because I was banking on Frontier Pri. The school filled 227 out of 235. They will go balloting tomorrow. Grief!
