      Hi all,

I plan to register on 3rd day and is within 1km. Most likely balloting like last year. :xedfingers:

On Day 1 at 10am, 27 applications (<1km) out of 28 vacancies for NYPS. And that’s not including those applications which are > 1km.

            for those balloting at RGPS,

safer for parents to turn up.

last Friday P2B, a child's name was picked in the ballot. But because the Chinese name was very similar to that of another kid picked earlier, the slip of paper almost put back into the box!!!

luckily the mom alert cried out 'Stop!' in time, so all fine.
Mother's love is always the greatest. if she not present, nobody spot mistake. She would have received a call from the school saying she not successful in ballot.

try to sit in front - because you can see & hear clearer.
if sit at the back, a lot of distractions going on. People chit chat, moving around, whispering.

I remember for NYPS Ph 2C three yrs ago, serial numbers of successful kid was read out, maybe together with names too. Hence, mistake due to similar name will not occur at NYPS. I remember for 2009 intake, there were 2 pairs of twins in the ballot. Once any one of the twin was picked, the other one would be successful too. Can you believe it, all the 4 kids got in! Luckily, my child's name was the number 16 or 18 to be picked (out of 55 kids)!!

plus those 28 already in phase 2B (all within 1km), a total of 69 within 1 km is quite unbelievable

It's not unbelievable, during my kid's balloting yr, it was 60 within 1km. In NYPS website, it showed 61, the one kid was outside 1km.

That’s because the figure includes PRs. There are soooo… many PRs living within 1 km of brand name schools in B Timah. This is going too far. I think give them 1/2 chance also not fair to us citizens.

If they really want good schools, then become citizens lah!

how do you know there are so many PRs ? and around NYPS is mostly landed housing, and many of them are already under Phase 1 due to siblings .... but for first time registration got so many ? how many are not staying there ? that is what I am trying to ask !!

Yeah… I don’t usually find so many young school goers ard this area. Whether truly 1km or not, MOE should really step in and do their part.
