There is this new chess school in Joo Chiat.Hi,
My 9 yrs old son is interested in playing chess. I learned and played chess with him leisurely. I intend to put him in a chess club where he can learn the game professionally. However, I can't seem to find one near where I stay, Marine Parade. Does anyone knows?

The school only provide beginner course. If your son is an advance player,
then you have to look at other options.
Drop me a note if you required more info, as my ds started chess when he was 5, he is 7 this year. -

Group class is $35 for 2 hoursHi,
What's the fees like for beginners at Power Chess??
Thanks!
However, the group class is not as structure as Inchess (Asian Chess Academy) and SCF (Singapore Chess Federation). It is more for intermediate or advance players.
The private lesson (1 to 1) is S$70 /hr.
It is the most ex among the players in SIN. -

Thank you for addressing my queries.
I am in contact with Chesskidz LLP to find a suitable lesson time for my kids. Their location is near our place so I should not have looked further.
Your reassurance that their trainers are experienced takes away the remaining doubts I have to enrol my kids with them.
Thanks! -
I am looking for external classes for my upper pri kid who knows how to play chess. May I know if anyone has feedback (eg. programs and coaches, wrt these two centres ? TIA.

Hi,
I am Marco from The Chess School. There are a couple of students interested to start group lessons soon. Check us out and email or call me for enquiries as I seldom come here. Cheers.

I notice that some websites publish profiles of their coaches, and some do not. Chess-Kidz has a new Grandmaster coach called Gasanov: http://www.singaporechessnews.com/patrick_tay_cup_2011.html
Can anyone share their experience with Chess-kidz or others?
The only issue I have is that they don't seem to have a premises of their and when I visited Bukit Timah Plaza, I noticed that they are sharing space with a tuition centre? For young children, there doesn't seem to be any space for parents to sit and wait. For older children, can leave them and go NTUC supermarket. -
Hi anyone heard of chess academy? Would like to know more thanks and appreciate. your feedback/review. :))

Is there a distinct advantage of one-to-one training over group lesson?
