Jimei:
Update for PHPS, 44 applicants within 1km, sure balloting already.
Yes, both Cheerie and I have not registered. -
I'm going tomorrow too. Will expect the number to go up by another 10-20 within 1 km. But if i guess wrongly , all the better

50 will be a good no. But my guess is ard 60. -
MumandMe:
Don't try please! Tao Nan is a very good school.Hi, consider this scenario.
You are an ex-student of Tao Nan. Now, you stay within 1km of both NYPS and RGPS. You have children of both genders, elder girl and younger boy. If you were in this position, will you give up your 2A2 \"guarantee\" with Tao Nan and try to register with NYPS?
RGPS will certainly be in the 2nd stage consideration to NYPS since a co-ed school is preferred.
A friend's friend, has given up a place in Rosyth, trying to apply into ACS. in the end, they lost both, their son has to go to a neighbourhood school! too scary... -

To mumandme,
Don’t try both nyps or rgps. Keep tao nan. If need to ask for transfer after all registration. No point going through the balloting. NYPS confirm ballot. RGPS risky.
One bird in hand better than 2 in sky. -
hi MumandMe,
wise to stick to TaoNan, she is an excellent school. It is extremely high risks to try NYPS and RGPS now esp. under P2C.
much safer if you seek transfer to RGPS later peacefully. Normally towards year end tend to have movement.
If not, wait patiently until P3 tend to have higher movement when the school re-org classs from 30 to 40 kids per class. And also towards end of P3 going onto P4 when outsider GEP students join RGPS, the school re-org again. -
there is no difference between Taonan and NYPS, except the location and the name spelling
don’t give yourself more stress and create more balloting, for what ? -
Atan:
Dear All who are giving adv to MumandMe, you have missed out on the reply fm her that the person is also a GRL, so can go for Ph 2B at any Bukit Timah Schools!MumandMe:
Atan, there is another complication. The person is a GRL and eligible to apply under phase 2B at any school in the Bukit Timah - Holland GRC. Naturally, he will want to give it a go at NYPS.
Ok, MumandMe, you didn't mention this in yr prior post. In this case, then, to be superkiasu, I will enrol the girl in NYPS and boy in ACS, so both will benefit fm sec sch affililiation in the future. I know a friend who did this.
Hope it helps.
